This is a series of podcasts and guided meditations on spiritual awakening, meditative practice and spiritual principles as they relate to mental and physical health and emotional wellbeing. In the first series we looked at how to navigate problems arising during and post spiritual awakening, in series two we are examining how to utilize meditation and spiritual practice to improve mental health and emotional wellbeing. The host has recovered from anxiety, depression and obesity using these methods and now seeks to share them so that they may be of benefit to others.

My Meditations on Insight Timer can be found here:https://insig.ht/La2nkbT3fVb?utm_source=copy_link&utm_medium=live_stream_shareIn this series I'm exploring and explaining the various rpactices and principles in spirituality and meditation that have been so helpful for me in recovering from anxiety, depression, addiction and obesity. I utilise the wisdom and knowledge that has been recorded throughout history and apply it to the present day. In this episode I speak on the philosophy of Advaita Vedanta, and take a somewhat light hearted approach to answering the questions of meaning and purpose. Advaita is often translated as 'Nonduality' but I take the slightly controversial approach of translating instead to mean 'Nonseparation' - Through a deep enquiry into the background belief we tend to have about being somehow 'apart' from the universe and rediscovering the sense of unity, oneness all existential questions and confusion ceases and peace is attained.
All of the principles discussed in this Podcast are outlined in my book 'Still Now' found on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Still-Now-Through-Spiritual-Awakening/dp/B0DYHGN6TM?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLEIn this series of podcasts I will be exploring how spiritual practice and meditative principles can improve mental and emotional wellbeing. These talks are designed to introduce the practical application of spirituality and meditation, not just the concept or cognitive understanding but advice on how we can pragmatically engage these principles to transform our lives for the better. Having suffered with anxiety, depression, stress, addiction and obesity myself and subsequently recovered I can attest to the power of these practices and principles to achieve a full recovery and total transformation. In this episode I explain the principles of the infinite universal consciousness model of reality and how to experience pure consciousness for yourself. I speak on how this principle and experience helped me to overcome my struggles with mental health. In this podcast I endeavor to explain the principles of enlightenment and spiritual awakening, without the usual trappings of using spiritual language and terminology or introducing new beliefs or faiths. Ultimately the peace felt from recognizing the truth of your being is undeniable, once experienced everything else begins to fall into place.

We may initially believe this is too simplistic an approach but ultimately we find the very simplicity of this practice is where the power is found. In this talk I speak about how staying 'Present' throughout the day can ensure we are far less stressed and anxious during daily life, even if that daily life is very busy.

The inner child is the still present entity that is a collection of every experience that was left unresolved from childhood, naturally some of these experiences were painful. On the spiritual path we may sometimes find these concepts keep hitting paradoxes, how to be fully present when the past was so very painful? Does the concept of 'inner child work' and 'healing from trauma' work with the spiritual path? In this talk I dive feet first into this subject, I speak about my own experiences of severe anxiety attacks as a child that were unrecognised, dismissed and invalidated and the inevitable consequences this had for me as an adult, suffering through these attacks without support left me a form of PTSD that has required extensive work to recover from, a process I have found even harder than my recovery from addiction and my weight loss journey combined. I have often asked myself which I should focus on in my recovery, the more traditional talking therapy approach or the deepest spiritual teachings, in the end I found they are not at odds with each other at all. Although occasionally contradictory, they absolutely can be practised and worked through together. I delve into the mire of the healing process and I very much hope I can offer some solace, comfort and words of encouragement for those of you enduring this difficult process. This marks the end of Series 1 of this Podcast I will be taking a brief hiatus to rest, reset and recover before going weapons hot again. Humankind's relentless quest for meaning has us running a futile endeavour high and low, locked in an exhausting search, upon recognising this futility many choose to give up this search and attempt to resign themselves to a 'no meaning' model of reality (often as an excuse for hedonism) only to find this is ultimately unsatisfying also. The only way to finally find this meaning is to recognise the inherent flaw we didn't catch right at the beginning - Why is there no answer to this question? Because there is no question.

There are many practices designed to help one calm and quieten the mind, in this episode I discuss some of my favourite pointings for techniques and principles on quietening the mind. I also discuss the possibility of changing or softening deeply held beliefs regarding thought and feelings as a beginning stage of becoming free from thinking. Further in, I discuss the possibility of eradicating thought altogether, it is claimed that this is indeed possible and I suggest a practice to make this happen. After all, if you withdraw awareness from thought, what happens to the thought? -- The teachers I referenced here: Ramana Maharshi Mooji Rupert Spira The practices referenced: Self-Enquiry Self-Abidance Advaita Vedanta --
It's a common criticism of spirituality and awakening that if you really found that peace and happiness are available to you at all times regardless of the circumstances, that it would be inevitable one's motivation to achieve life goals will be diminshed or even disappear. While it is true that many people find that the more peaceful and happy they become through meditation and spiritual practice the more content they are with what they have and no longer seek the things they used to seek. Sometimes this results in some inner resistance in the form of a worry that you'll 'drop out' or 'give up' on life. As usual the opposite is true, you become more motivated to achieve the goals that align with your true self, your loving, wise and compassionate heartfelt motivations come to the surface. Often these true life goals stand in direct contrast to the goals you thought you had. After all, what is the purpose of these goals in the first place if not to create happiness for yourself and others? Perhaps a different way of looking at life is needed first before setting out on any task. The game must be worth the candle in any event. In this episode I discuss conventional motivational techniques that helped facilitate my transformation with weight loss, addiction recovery, professional life and mental health, I also discuss the curious paradox of the spiritual path as it relates to achieving life goals. In a strange twist of fate, the less I attached happiness to the outcome of my goals, the more I found I achieved my goals naturally. As usual, there is no real problem here, just the objection and resistance of the mind-created egoic self. All is well. Take care Be well Stay present.
When we begin to find inner peace we become ultra aware of everything in our lives that threatens that peace. Most are easy to deal with, some are not. One area that is persistently difficult to overcome is the behaviour of others. After awakening a new way of living begins to arise, and something one must be very conscious of is the particularly damaging effect that other people can have on your self-worth, self-esteem and self-respect and ultimately your peace. Nobody is perfect and everyone has the capacity to be negative at times, however there are many people in the world who are far darker, more persistent and more malevolent than the usual flaws a person may carry. I speak of the narcissist, the energy vampire and the unconscious, be wary of these people and make no mistake about their ill intentions, a single person like this can ruin your life, I really mean it. Awareness is key, and understanding these beings is a powerful first step to liberating oneself, next up some other strategies will be required such as the cut-off, the grey rock and ultimately self-realisation (self-actualisation) In this episode I discuss who they are, why they are the way they are, ways to spot them in your life and some approaches to defend yourself from their influence. Do not despair, brighter days are coming, we can heal, learn, grow and recover.
A common problem in spirituality is the concern about going crazy or 'losing it' - As with many of these problems it turns out the reverse is true, you're finally going sane. In this episode I discuss why this phenomenon occurs and the ultimate defence against it that you can practice directly within your experience, relax, consciousness can't go crazy.
So you deeply realise that it's only ever the present moment, but find that this only sometimes brings you peace and comfort. A common issue and an issue that I believe belongs in the 'Fair enough' category. This episode covers some approaches and understandings on how to experience the bliss of being even when things aren't so great in the present moment. I take a look at acceptance, practical changes, ego-dissolution, true presence and self-realisation. Take care Be well Stay Present
Many people through meditation come to the understanding that the future and past don't exist, and yet their chronic anxiety seems to remain. In this talk I discuss what anxiety is, some common approaches to the recovery from anxiety, why anxiety remains so persistent despite our sincere and best efforts to overcome it and finally propose a solution to rid yourself of anxiety for good. I cover a range of approaches from the scientific to the deeply spiritual in this talk and have taken a slightly different approach to delivery and production. This is due to the nature of the subject and my constant endeavour to provide a real, practical content that will have genuine and lasting effects on people's health and wellbeing For further research in self-enquiry, Advaita Vedanta and Awakening in general I would recommend the work of Rupert Spira, Mooji and Ramana Maharishi. --- Email: Corinbryant2@gmail.com My Guided Meditations: https://corin-bryant-meditation-coach.company.site/products/Complete-Collection-34-Guided-Meditations-by-Corin-Bryant-Audio-Remastered-&-Downloadable-p655075985
This episode is on some very common distractions from finding true Presence, primarily Guilt, Regret and Nostalgia, I have some tips on overcoming each. I will be discussing deeper issues regarding trauma and similar issues in a separate episode as they will require their own coverage, care and attention. Above all, recognise that whether you believe in the past or not, everything including memories can only ever be experienced Now.
How can one be at peace with oneself while there is still such terrible suffering in the world? A very valid question that poses quite the conundrum for those wishing to truly go 'all the way' through the gateless gate. Do we not on some level need to feel pain at the knowledge that other beings are suffering? Is there a way to remain at peace while addressing the suffering in the world or are they at odds? A common obstacle at late-stage awakening, causing many to turn back and never know the final freedom. Perhaps we could go full neo-advaita and say the world, other people and our selves simply do not exist therefore there are no problems, or maybe we go the other road and fully devote ourselves and partaking of martyr-like sacrifice in order to help the less fortunate. As with most things, can we find a way to be at peace with being somewhere in the middle? In this episode I discuss some approaches in the spiritual path regarding this dilemma, and ultimately attempt to offer something of a resolution. I hope you are well out there and my apologies for getting emotional during this episode. Take care Be well Stay present
(*Don't forget to Subscribe*) This is a common and highly frustrating phenomena, the deep and powerful insight into your true nature then a falling back into old ego-identified mind patterns. Don't despair, you have tasted freedom now, once the glimpse into your true nature has been experienced you are well on the way. But do not fall asleep, the opportunity to awaken is alive in you and can be established permanently today. In this episode I discuss the common reasons why this occurs and the key understandings that can prevent this from happening. Take care Be well Stay present
The term Spiritual Bypassing can mean many things so in this episode I discuss a few of the definitions, my take on things and how I would advise you approach the phenomena. I will say this up front, don't let anyone put you off your spiritual path by accusing you of bypassing, miserable people cannot stand to see people happy, and the 'bypassing' accusation is a deeply insidious method low-consciousness entities will attempt to use to control you.
"The cure for pain is in the pain" - Rumi On the spiritual path it is common to hit some turbulence when emotional pain surfaces. It can interrupt our practice and interfere with our peace. With some intuition, patience and understanding it is even possible to use this pain to deepen presence and insight. Pain does not have to be a hindrance to awakening, in fact, it is the very signal that something is amiss that prompted our seeking in the first place. If there was never any pain, would you have started this journey at all?
It is common to worry about the effect that staying fully present will have on friendships and social interactions. If we are fully present how can we continue to have conversations and interact with people? Can we continue as we once were with our friends? Most find that ultimately all friendships and social interaction is improved and deepened, a sense of connectedness and love replaces the usual sense of neediness and desperate need to be in proximity to others. As your intuition deepens and becomes clearer, one might realise that there are people in your life you previously spent time with that you begin to realise may not be so loving and friendly after all. You may also become aware of people you previously took for granted now becoming a deeper and closer connection. The friendship group may grow smaller, but you will find you have more Friends.

To the Ego this holds the same level of threat as bodily death, and so carries the same weight of fear. This is a sign you are doing something right on the spiritual journey, notice that your intuition here changes, the waves of existential terror have a different quality to them now, and no matter the emotion that rises, you intuit that ultimately you are safe. It gets so very tough, and you feel so very awful at times, my heart goes out to you and I want to say thank you for persevering through this, you are doing the world a huge service by seeing this task through to it's end. Have courage and don't turn back now, look after yourself and hold strong. It's always darkest before the dawn.

On the spiritual journey pain presents the issue of how to overcome the suffering generated by something that is so dreadfully uncomfortable and causes so much negative emotion. Does pain make spirituality harder? Could pain perhaps even be a blessing in disguise? What is the spiritual approach to pain and why do we have to feel it in the first place? To answer all these questions and more we begin by exploring what even is our experience of the body, could it be possible to change the way we experience the body itself? And therefore transcend the problem of pain? Let's find out!

Will you still be able to conduct relationships if you are on the spiritual path? How will a 'new you' be received by a lover? How to navigate the unique difficulties presented by awakening with regards to relationships of an intimate and romantic nature? After all, if you are recognising your true nature as universal consciousness and no longer identified as an individual ego, are relationships even necessary or desirable anymore? In this Podcast I discuss our general approach to relationships pre-awakening, the challenges presented by relationships during awakening and hopefully how to resolve some of these. In time you will find all of these concerns amount to nothing at all, awakening solves every relationship problem you've ever had and replaces them with smoother, more fun and truly loving experiences of romance.
