Maurice C - Local Portland Writer/Poet // I'm a Portland-native Black writer of poetry and prose. I recently published my first book of poetry. My favorite thing about writing is its ability to help me (and others) process all the swirling chaos of the world around and inside of me. I've worked with young people as a coach, mentor, and pastor for the past 20 years and I love sharing my life with youth. Besides writing I love sports, Portland, my family, theater, reading, movies and television, art, baking, and tattoos.

Peter B - Seattle / Tampa Based Writer/Author Peter joined us to share some wisdom and chat about resilience, life, being a writer, and having a variety of careers in the interest of passion. Hear about how storytelling, trying on a variety of hats, and being willing to be yourself are some of life’s greatest skills.
Caryn B - Seattle Based Social Worker Discussing Emotional Intelligence Centers - Head, Heart, Body Trained as a social worker, I now play the roles of Life Coach, Enneagram Teacher, and Facilitator of Transformation. I empower people to embrace their life’s journey through radical listening, invitations inward, and promoting conscious choice. I have always sought deep understanding and deep connection, which has meant wading through much confusion, skepticism, and loneliness. I dream of a world where everyone has the opportunity to flourish while embodying their full selves and unique gifts. We often think ""intelligence"" is all about being book-smart, but I'll be sharing about 3 separate (but interconnected) Centers of Intelligence we all have access to - the head, the heart, and the body (or gut). I'll talk about some of their functions, what happens when they're out of balance, and tips for checking in with each center. These teachings come through the lens of the Enneagram, a complex system of personality. I'm happy to respond to any questions about the system or the centers
