This week on the pod I am riding solo which I love to do to give you insight into my own personal side. I go into my own inner struggles around my weight , the demons and triggers that can arise and stories from my past and come into my current present. I talk about how I work through these and how hard it can be. I talk about how sometimes I can take hold of them and sometimes your mind can get the better of you , but after all we are all human and are own our own healing journey and that can take a life time. I am still learning not to be too hard on myself as I struggled with being a perfectionist, over achiever, people pleaser for most of my life and didn't under stand why. Know I know it was the fear of not being liked but I had to learn to like myself first. Remember what ever you are going through or what stories you are telling yourself, someone else is feeling that too. I am here to validate this and tell you... you are not alone as we all feel this at some time. Follow me @emmakehoe @empowerwithemma

I adored this chat with Daniella as I read her book going through a hard mental time myself during lockdown and it gave me a feeling of not being alone, knowing someone else has been through the dark tunnel and does come out into the light in the end. That is when Gerry started to research and regulate his own self and thoughts and realise how much power he had.  He started to go inward and explore the science behind the mind and how it is proven that what we fuel our own thoughts is how we show up in the world and that we have the control to awaken our own power within. From a wellness retreat , starting up my own mindfulness hikes and finally believing in myself that I can do anything I set my mind too. I open up about the mental block ad negative headspace I was in at the start of the year. I didn’t know what was going on inside me until I paused, became truly self-aware  and discovered not only was it a spiritual awakening but I was truly letting  go and healing into the new version of myself which is called ‘The dark night of the soul’. Caroline thought she was not going to be able to cope with anxiety that she had to leave her job and start to understand herself, own it and accept it.  That is when someone approached her to write about her experience and it became a book ' Owning it'.
