In this short episode, we're diving into two specific tools that can help you start (or re-start) your workout routine. This is not about having discipline or willpower, or magically finding time that didn't exist in your schedule a week ago. This is about how to *actually* do it -- whether you're getting into a fitness routine for the first time, or restarting after some time away. The before and after photos can make any health journey seem intense, quick, and as though a switch was miraculously flipped. In reality, though, any health journey - with any goal - is far more nuanced and complicated. Today I am sharing three essentials from my personal journey, which included not just losing 130lbs but reprioritizing my life, my self-esteem, view of self, and everything in between. I am also sharing one regret that I look back on that to this day slightly haunts me still. It is something I did not realize in the moment but I can see so clearly now. How old were you when you first began thinking about how your body should look during a specific season? Spring into summer is typically when the societal pressure starts to creep in to look a certain way - whether for an event, a trip, or the season as a whole. Today we're exploring why that is, sharing how that used to come up for me, and providing helpful alternatives. If you haven’t yet, please Follow, Subscribe or Download the show on your preferred podcasting platform, leave a 5-star rating and a review, and if you like it, share it with a friend, as all of this allows the show to reach - and ultimately help - more people. What would it look like to inspire yourself? Are you comparing your body to your friends? How about a stranger? How about an edited photo of someone that isn't even real on the internet? Is your self of self-worth attached to your workouts, or how "clean" you ate? These are some of the questions we explore today. I hope you get something from the conversation.
