Description

We’d like to introduce you to a new podcast. It’s called Different. But why different?

You know how when you’re wearing sunglasses it puts a tint on everything? Or if you wear glasses you see some things in focus and others out of focus?

Well, we all have lenses on the inside of our head too. And they tint, colour and shape everything we see, think and understand.

So, on this podcast Steve Chalke and Jill Rowe are going to dive headlong into just that as they discover a new ‘meaning making’ story and embrace a fresh way of thinking about life, the universe and everything in-between.

They will talk about getting to a place where we see our lives as part of something bigger than our day-to-day experience - becoming a part of an unfolding story. Finding joy in ordinary moments, facing failure and struggle and discovering liberation and purpose.

They’ll also discuss experiencing life as a gift and learning how to live on purpose. They’ll be peering into dark nights of the soul and finding hope. And simply learning how we are here to walk each home.

We hope you enjoy these conversations – discovering a new story and embracing new thinking.

Waging Peace

Waging Peace

2025-09-0327:20

In this episode of the Different podcast, Jill Rowe talks with Steve Chalke about the importance of waging peace and not war. For that to happen, we all need to see the vital importance of really listening to others. We simply have to listen and we recognise that, in truth, we only win when we all win, we can learn to not let anger get hold of and grip us, and as the brilliant Desmond Tutu said, if we want peace, we have to talk to our enemies, not just our friends. In fact, we are invited to love our enemies. This episode feels so important for right now, we hope that you will join us in waging peace. Our title music is written and performed by Jerome Alexander (Message to Bears). This podcast is powered by Oasis. So together, we chat about how we can grow to not despise it, but welcome it and see it all as a creative invitation. We realize once more, the anchor of vision and see the truth that we don't need to know everything to take the next step. We just need to know enough and we also need enough foolishness to believe that we can do what needs to be done. Our title music is written and performed by Jerome Alexander (Message to Bears). This podcast is powered by Oasis. And we remind ourselves that we must speak out even when our voice is shaken, shaking, and even when we think we might lose it all.Responding to the invitation to embrace fear as we seek to live love out loud. In the end, we see that courage is a muscle we can always strengthen. Acting justly, loving mercy and walking humbly. This is the path we are invited to take, and this is how we will all find our voice. Our title music is written and performed by Jerome Alexander (Message to Bears). This podcast is powered by Oasis.
