Sometimes God will give you a push. Especially when you're a stubborn a$$ like me.
Grab hold with both hands & hold on for the ride kids, life can be like riding a bull.
Ok....so a little different topic today. Wanted to talk about sales & building relationships & why that latter part is critical to your success in this arena.
Soccer season has kicked off. Embarrassing my players because I love them. Coaching is impactful & your more powerful than you think you are.
This is likely a depressing listen. A friend of mine left this world & she was so so sad. I'm struggling with it & I wanted to remind everyone of the impact they can have on other people. Even though sometimes it doesn't happen, we do have the power to affect change. It won't work every time but isn't it worth it to keep trying?
I've had several conversations this week revolving around this specific topic & it seems pertinent to get my happy a$$ back in here to talk about it.
If you're struggling, please reach out. To someone, somewhere. Face to face connection is a powerful piece to our lives. Be liberal with your smile, you never know how much it can help someone out.
It's been a month. Ugh. Sorry for being such a slacker. And this episode is probably garbage so there's that. Random ramblings. My brain is somewhere - I need to go find it.
This past weekend, Thursday through Saturday I had the great opportunity to attend Summer Smash (again) in St. Louis at 1st Phorm HQ. A weekend immersed in the people, the culture & the MISSION of why we do what we do every day. Kinda long winded. There is a funny recap of me being an idiot as well as Andy's speech from the opening ceremony on Saturday before the big party.
I truly hope you listen to this entire episode. Andy's message is nothing like you've ever heard from him before. All my love friends. Thank you for sharing the message. <3 I am eternally grateful.
No starting subject today so we just roll with it ;) With weather getting warmer it makes me think about heat training, electrolytes & hydration. And some random thoughts about intentional conversations with our kids.
Today I was finally able to chat with Jeanne Larsen about her recent trials she's been dealt, how she is handling some pretty significant life challenges & changes. She shares a bit of her story with me & I am ever so grateful for her willingness to share. I have gotten to know her the past couple of years through the studio here, classes she has attended, a business mastermind I coerced her into attending & general conversations. And I have come to learn that her quiet & gentle persona is purely a front......inside lies an absolute savage filled with determination, independence & the greatest will to fight I have had the privilege to meet.
Jeanne, thank you for joining me today & I am excited to see where your resilience takes you. I am ever so grateful for our friendship. You have taught me a few things along the way. And I didn't say this on air because I didn't want both of us to be a bawling mess. I appreciate you so much.
You can find Jeanne's bakery on Facebook. Or you can email her directly at MsQsTreats@gmail.com
I HIGHLY recommend her Lemon Bars AND Angel Food Cake!!! You seriously do not even know they are gluten free. So good.
Life, kids, advocating for yourself & your kids. Living the example and recording belches. :)
Looking forward to racing this weekend & also looking at challenging myself with some more difficult conditions & longer distances. A few thoughts on getting uncomfortable & communication.
Is it inappropriate to talk about snot & sleepwalking on a podcast? HA! Oh well. Our GAF meters broke a long time ago. Enjoy!
Several months ago Alex's PlayStation got boxed up & put away for the rest of the school year. And things have been going better because of it. His attitude has improved, his grades are finally improving & he's a nice kid to be around now. A few days ago I commented on an IG post that info & wow, the response was way more than I anticipated it would be. Mostly good & in agreement/similar struggles....obviously a few haters, whatever. So today I wanted to talk about this topic some.
I also mentioned the My Ascension documentary showing this week at some places so here's the link for the showings.
March is National Down Syndrome Awareness month. Who better to talk about personal experiences with Down Syndrome than my mom. My younger brother Curtis was born in 1982 with Down Syndrome & a defective heart. He was one of the youngest people to ever have open heart surgery. I learned a whole lot experiencing Curtis first hand growing up. It literally changed my life. My sister Amie & I are pledged to put in 321 miles for the month of March. 3.21 is Down Syndrome Day. If you would like to donate, you can use this link. All money raised goes to supporting people with Down & educating people on Down Syndrome. So this holds a pretty special place in our hearts. I hope you enjoy the stories!
A little discussion about Impact on people & community today with my partner Danielle Schares.
You ever have a thought that just nags at your brain? Like this picture in your head of something that you just can't shake? Is it the path or is it just ADD? Can anyone else relate?
Kind of been in a life reflective frame of mind lately. The obstacle is the opportunity has been a theme for me for quite a while. Embrace the suck friends.
Whew!! Wow what a day this has been! I had the opportunity to visit with my dear friend Mandy McCleary on her Facebook page for a live interview & it was SUCH an awesome chat!!! Y'all know I'm a huge people person & getting to chat with her about life, her wellness journey & the craziness of life was such a great experience. Of course we went twice as long as she normally does because I don't know how not to talk a lot....I know, you're shocked. HA! Go check out her page! She is the absolute sweetest person with such a fantastic message. She's been vlogging her journey for 171 weeks!!! That is some dedication!! I linked her FB page on her name or right here.
So I'm nerding out a bit about some new audio equipment. I'm really wanting to add guests to my podcast & I don't want to feel like we're making out over 1 mic so with a little YouTube help, a referral from a friend & help from Guitar Center guys, I was able to get this setup set up!
Some thoughts today on the process on reaching goals & the boring processes of making those happen. Following the plan & executing.
My audio is straight freaking garbage so I apologize up front! But that cannot be my excuse to not show up. 2023 is here loud & proud & got got goals to crush. Let's go my friends!! Light your OWN fire & someone else's!
