Welcome to this latest episode of Diary of a Sober CEO with Sam Delaney, Journalist Broadcaster and Author - his latest book ‘Sort Your Head Out - Mental Health Without All The Bollocks’ is a best seller.Sam loves to talk and write about issues surrounding mental health and addiction. He also consults with businesses on how to improve mental health conversations among employees so when I had the opportunity to get him on the show I was all over it!! Sam, has worked across the whole spectrum of media, he has written for The Daily Telegraph, NME, Q, Grazia, Cosmopolitan, the New Statesman, The Guardian, Observer, The Sunday Times, Independent, and numerous others and he has spent years as a broadcaster both in radio and TV. He has hosted numerous shows on BBC 5Live, BBC London and talkSPORT and presented documentaries for BBC Three and Channel 4. Sam Delaney's News Thing was a television programme that aired every Saturday night from November 2015 until June 2018.From 2016-2018 he hosted the drive time show on Talk Radio, covering the Brexit referendum, two general elections and the 2016 US Presidential Election, live from Washington DC. Sam was also once editor-in-chief of Heat Magazine & Comedy Central UK. If you listened to the last episode you’ll know again it's taken ages but fortunately I've actually recorded two episodes since then and promise to get number 4 out in the next couple of weeks. I was also joined on the show by Ben Williams who it was actually amazing to witness as he actually 'came out' publically as in recovery from addiction - I think that is such a privilege and something very special as more leaders or people with public profiles need to do this to break down the stigmat attached, to what is as I always say, a silent issue. On this show we kick around what it was like in the 'good old days' of active alcoholism and addiction and how some things like the trappings of success (a job, still having a home and 'thinking' we are functioning) can keep us from making the changes needed, seeking help and living what for Sam, Ben and me and many many others, are amazing fruitful and successful sober lives. We do get a chance to also kick around the word recovery i.e. 'Recovery Confidence' which is the organisation Ben and I work on together (in our spare time) and we agreed and nailed the new initiative that now has its own life which is 'Sober Confident' - this is something that football stadiums, restaurants and bars need to watch out for this at a venue near you...!!!!I really hope you enjoy it!Jason

Welcome to this latest episode of Diary of a Sober CEO with Oliver Lewis, the CEO and Founder of Global Influencer Marketing and Talent Agency Group THE FIFTH. If you listened to the last episode you’ll know that it took it's taken quite some time to get this second episode out but fortunately I've actually recorded two episodes since then so keep an eye out for number three.  Olly and I go way back - we worked together at News UK where we both ‘cut our teeth’ so to speak and it's been wonderful to watch Oliver’s career rocket so stellar. As a successful entrepreneur in the influencer marketing space, Oliver shares his perspective on the industry and shares his insights on building a thriving business and the culture he is creating at THE FIFTH along the way. In what is a high-pressure environment and actually like a “start-up sat within a large corporate”, throughout the conversation, we delve into the importance of ‘walking the walk’ as an employer and as I said to him during the show at one point, “if I was working for your business I’d love to hear my CEO say what you have said!!”. Whether you're an entrepreneur or simply interested in the world of influencer marketing, this episode offers a concrete 101 on how to succeed in business while staying true to yourself and your values.I really hope you enjoy! Jason
Welcome to Diary of a Sober CEO, a podcast dedicated to shining a light on recovery and addiction in the workplace, and on what we, as both employers and employees can do to improve the lives of all involved.I can’t think of a better first guest than Luke Judge. Luke’s reputation precedes him and I’d describe him as ‘one of the good guys’.  Currently as CEO of Tapx and has had an awesome career leading companies such as Incubeta and in his earlier years the then Net Media Planet, Luke has been incredibly forthcoming, honest and luckily for me, well positioned to chat about work culture and his journey in the media industry.Luke and I first met, over 15 years ago and much earlier in our careers and it’s been fascinating to get his take on changes that have and are continuing to take place and the position of addiction recovery in the workplace. I’ve really enjoyed getting some insight into what makes Luke tick and I feel so grateful to have spent this time with him. I hope you enjoy spending some time with him here too.I'd like to thank and acknowledge Matt Cotton @ https://www.disruptivmedia.com and Judith Stewart Photography for all the photography and studio work, and last but by no very means least Harry McMullen, for all his help on pre-production and getting this off the ground.
