Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Psalm 79:9 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. -Jeremiah 33:3 DEVOTION Based on Jeremiah 33 God issues a blank-check invitation: call and receive answers plus surprises. 'Call' implies relationship, need, and faith combined. The promise exceeds the request—not just answers but revelations. 'Great and mighty things' are literally 'inaccessible things'—truths and wonders beyond human reach. 'Thou knowest not' reminds us that God's resources exceed our imagination. Prayer isn't just communication; it's the key to divine mysteries. A.C.T.S. REFLECTION ADORATION: Answering God, You invite my calls and exceed my expectations. You reveal wonders beyond my imagination. I worship You, divine Revealer. CONFESSION: I confess prayerlessness that misses Your mighty revelations. THANKSGIVING: Thank You for the privilege of calling on You. SUPPLICATION: Show me great and mighty things as I call on You today. PRAYER Help us, God of our salvation, for the glory of your name. Deliver us, and forgive our sins, for your name’s sake. PSALM 79:9 Dear Lord, tonight I rest in the truth of salvation. Yes, even in my wretchedness, You have displayed Your faithfulness. No voice of shame or degradation could ever destroy my confidence in Your salvation. Release my weary bones and tired mind from jealousy, bitterness, and pride. Tuck me into Your grace and rock me slowly in Your embrace. Help me tonight when thoughts of doubt creep in to steal my peace. Help others who are reeling from the same anxiety. Steady me. Remind me of Your goodness. As I sleep and steady my breathing, quiet my mind and speak truth to my soul. Wrap me in Your arms, and answer my prayer for peace. In Jesus’ name, I trust and pray, Amen. 🙏🏾 PRAY FOR YOUR COMMUNITYBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/jarvis-kingston--1517583/support.
Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Psalm 78:23 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. -Psalms 147:3 DEVOTION Based on Psalm 147 The Great Physician specializes in cardiac care—not physical hearts but shattered souls. 'Broken in heart' describes grief's devastation, betrayal's pierce, loss's ache. God doesn't just observe brokenness; He heals. 'Bindeth up' is tender, personal attention—the careful wrapping of deep wounds. The same hands that flung stars into space gently tend to broken hearts. No wound is too deep, no heart too shattered for His healing touch. A.C.T.S. REFLECTION ADORATION: Gentle Healer, You see every broken piece and wounded place. Your hands bring healing no medicine can match. I worship You, Mender of hearts. CONFESSION: I confess hiding my brokenness instead of bringing it to You. THANKSGIVING: Thank You for Your tender care for broken hearts. SUPPLICATION: Bind up the wounds I carry and those around me today. PRAYER He commanded the skies above, and opened the doors of heaven. PSALM 78:23 Mighty God, You have always been and always will be faithful to Your people. To those whom You have chosen, grace and mercy will follow them. Providential provision and powerful protection will always be given to those You have called Your own. I want to rest in that certainty tonight, Lord. I want to relax knowing that You will never leave or forsake me. Just as You were faithful to the wandering nation of Israel in the wilderness, You will be loyal to me. Just as You provided for the disobedient children of Jacob, You will be kind to me even when I sin against You. As I seek to sleep, give me the certainty that Your grace never runs dry, nor do You withhold peace from those who honestly seek Your presence. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen. 🙏🏾 PRAY FOR YOUR COMMUNITYBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/jarvis-kingston--1517583/support.
Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Psalm 77:19 The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. -Nahum 1:7 DEVOTION Based on Nahum 1 Three truths to anchor any storm: God's character ('good'), God's capability ('stronghold'), God's care ('knoweth them'). Goodness isn't occasional but essential to His nature. A stronghold isn't just protection but a fortress—ancient, unmovable, impenetrable. 'Knoweth' is intimate awareness, not casual acquaintance. In trouble's day, when everything else proves unreliable, God remains good, strong, and aware. He's not just a refuge; He's their refuge. A.C.T.S. REFLECTION ADORATION: Good God, You are my fortress when life attacks. You know me personally and protect me powerfully. I worship You, my trustworthy Stronghold. CONFESSION: I confess running to lesser refuges in my troubles. THANKSGIVING: Thank You for being unshakably good and strong. SUPPLICATION: Be my stronghold today in whatever troubles arise. PRAYER Your way was through the sea; your paths through the great waters. Your footsteps were not known. PSALM 77:19 Dear Lord, Your perfect and powerful character is impossible to forget. The evidence of Your goodness surrounds me. I will remember Your faithfulness tonight and meditate on Your goodness before I sleep. As I seek a tranquil reprieve from the day’s toll, I will settle my soul on Your saving grace. Guide me peacefully to sleep tonight as I meditate on Your attributes. Your ways are holy. You are a God of wonders. You have redeemed Your people. Nature bows to You. Nations cannot escape You. You lead me and all who respond to Your voice in paths of righteousness. Lead me gently there tonight, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen. 🙏🏾 PRAY FOR YOUR COMMUNITYBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/jarvis-kingston--1517583/support.
Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Psalm 76:13 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. -Isaiah 40:31 DEVOTION Based on Isaiah 40 Waiting isn't passive but active dependence. 'Wait upon' means to serve, like a waiter attentive to every need. The promise is renewable strength—not a one-time boost but continual renewal. Eagles don't flap frantically; they catch thermal currents and soar. So believers catch the Spirit's wind. The progression is telling: soar extraordinarily, run consistently, walk faithfully. God provides strength for spectacular moments and mundane miles. A.C.T.S. REFLECTION ADORATION: Strength-renewing God, You lift the weary and empower the weak. You turn waiters into soaring eagles. I worship You, divine Energizer. CONFESSION: I confess impatience and trying to manufacture my own strength. THANKSGIVING: Thank You for strength that renews with waiting. SUPPLICATION: Teach me to wait on You today, catching Your wind for soaring. PRAYER You are awesome, God, in your sanctuaries. The God of Israel gives strength and power to his people. Praise be to God! PSALM 76:13 "Dear Lord, You are the great warrior who fights for us and protects us against our enemies. Like a mighty army, You guard over me and all I hold dear. I pray that You will cover me with Your shield of protection as I sleep, keeping me safe from all harm and danger. Lord, I pray that I will always have a healthy fear of You. May I never forget that You are the holy and righteous God who created the heavens and the earth. May I always remember that You alone are worthy of my worship and devotion. So as I close my eyes tonight, I surrender myself to Your loving hands. Protect me, guide me, and fill me with Your peace. Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Luke 5:10 Jesus sees our potential even when we only see our failures. FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: SELF-CONTROL Say “no” to one thing that distracts you from your priorities. Today’s daily devotional is about Jesus calling Peter to be a "fisher of men." After a miraculous catch of fish, Peter is amazed by Jesus' power. This story illustrates the beginnings of Peter’s faith journey and Jesus’ call to follow Him, embodying obedience and trust in God’s provision. STORY Bible in a Year: Fisher of Men Scripture When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. Luke 5:8 Have you ever felt like giving up when your efforts seem futile? Peter and Andrew certainly did after a night of unsuccessful fishing. Imagine their surprise when Jesus used their boat to teach and then instructed them to try again, leading to a miraculous catch. How often do we question, like Peter, before we obey God’s call? Peter’s initial reluctance turned into awe as he witnessed the power of Jesus. This miracle was more than a lesson in fishing; it was an invitation to a new life. Jesus wasn’t just interested in fish; He was calling Peter to something greater – to be a fisher of men. What does this call mean for you? Have you considered that God might be calling you to a higher purpose? Later, when Jesus healed the leper, He showed that His compassion knows no bounds. By touching the untouchable, Jesus demonstrated that no one is beyond God's reach. How do we respond to those who are marginalized or in need? Are we willing to break conventions to show Christ’s love? These stories challenge us to trust Jesus in every circumstance, even when it defies logic. Peter’s journey from a simple fisherman to a follower of Christ began with a step of faith and obedience. Are you ready to take that step? Reflect on your own life and consider where Jesus might be calling you to trust Him more deeply. REFLECTION Reflect on your life and consider where God is calling you to step out in faith. Are there areas where you’ve been reluctant to trust Him fully? Take time to pray and ask for the courage to obey, even when it seems difficult. Like Peter, recognize that following Jesus means leaving behind your doubts and embracing a new purpose. PRAYER And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. LUKE 5:10 Dear Jesus, in the same way that You provided for Peter in his boat and provided a large catch of fish, I also thank You that instead of fish You'll allow me to draw all men and women to You and to Your purpose for their lives. Increase my influence, enlarge my reach, and give me the ability to be a magnet for all who I come in contact with. As You increase the influence I have with others I also thank You that You will give me the ability to supernaturally heal the areas in their life that is robbing them from experiencing community, purpose, and fulfillment. Like the leper in today's reading I pray that they will spread the word of how good You are and that You are always willing to heal and uplift those in need. Today I acknowledge that I am… a fisher of men. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. 🙏🏾 Breaking News Charlie Kirk 911 Race In AmericaBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/jarvis-kingston--1517583/support.
Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Luke 4:21 Every rejection opens a door to God’s redirection. FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: SELF-CONTROL Speak only encouraging words for the whole day. Today’s daily devotional is about Jesus’ growing ministry, where He healed the sick, cast out demons, and taught with authority. Despite His miracles, Jesus faced rejection in His hometown of Nazareth, showing that faith and familiarity can often clash. STORY Bible in a Year: Possession and Rejection Scripture And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country. Luke 4:24 Have you ever felt the pain of being rejected by those who should support you the most? As Jesus’ ministry began to flourish, He experienced the highs of miraculous healings and the lows of profound rejection. In Cana and Galilee, Jesus demonstrated His divine authority through acts of compassion and power. When an official from Capernaum pleaded for his son’s life, Jesus simply spoke the word, and the boy was healed. This act of compassion highlights Jesus’ willingness to respond to sincere faith, even from those outside His immediate circle. What does Jesus’ healing of the official’s son teach us about faith? The official’s faith, though initially desperate, grew stronger as he trusted Jesus’ word without immediate evidence. This kind of faith is essential for us as we navigate our own challenges, trusting in God’s promises even when we cannot see immediate results. How can we maintain faith in the face of unseen outcomes? Later, Jesus demonstrated His authority over evil by casting out a demon in the synagogue of Capernaum. His mere words set the possessed man free, leaving the onlookers in awe. This event underscores Jesus’ power over the spiritual realm and His mission to liberate those bound by darkness. What does Jesus’ authority over demons reveal about His mission? Despite these powerful demonstrations, Jesus faced stark rejection in His hometown of Nazareth. The people who watched Him grow up could not reconcile the boy they knew with the man performing miracles. Their lack of faith led to missed blessings and miracles that could have transformed their lives. How do we sometimes allow familiarity to cloud our faith? Jesus’ rejection in Nazareth serves as a reminder that recognizing and honoring God’s work often requires us to look beyond our preconceived notions and biases. It challenges us to keep our hearts open to God’s movements, even when they come from unexpected sources. REFLECTION Reflect on areas in your life where you may have let familiarity breed contempt. Are there moments where you have failed to recognize God’s work because it came from an unexpected place or person? This week, challenge yourself to approach situations and people with an open heart, willing to see God’s hand at work. Embrace the faith of the official who trusted Jesus’ word and the power of His spoken authority over darkness. PRAYER And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. LUKE 4:21 Dear Lord, thank You that as You build my life, I will not be driven by reputation but will be driven by purpose. I thank You that as my life begins to take form, and the ministry that You called me to live takes shape, I praise You that I will be able to preach with authority, I'll be able to heal the broken hearted with compassion, and I'll be able to cast out evil mindsets and spirits with power and authority. If You did it Jesus, I know that I can do it, because the same power that flowed through You is flowing through me. I will only do what I see You doing, I will only speak what You tell me to speak. I declare that Your Spirit is upon me, I declare that Your authority is on me therefore I will stand in the power of Your Holy Spirit and remember who You’ve called me to be even when others don’t believe it. I know who I am in the Lord and nothing will ever change that. I am called and I am chosen! Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 John 4:14 God’s grace is available to all regardless of their past. FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: SELF-CONTROL Decline one unnecessary purchase today. Today’s daily devotional is about Jesus revealing Himself as the Messiah to the Samaritan woman at the well. She recognized Him through their conversation and joyfully spread the news, leading many Samaritans to believe in Jesus and experience His transformative power. STORY Bible in a Year: The Woman at the Well Scripture Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:13-14 Have you ever felt an unexpected encounter change the course of your life? Jesus’ meeting with the Samaritan woman at the well was one such transformative moment. As Jesus rested at the well, He asked the woman for a drink, breaking cultural norms and engaging her in a profound conversation. Jesus offered her "living water," symbolizing eternal life, and revealed intimate details about her life, showing her that He was the long-awaited Messiah. What can we learn from Jesus' approach to the Samaritan woman? Jesus’ willingness to engage with the woman, despite societal boundaries, teaches us about the inclusive and compassionate nature of His ministry. He looked beyond her past and offered her hope and redemption. How does Jesus’ offer of "living water" resonate with you? The concept of living water represents the spiritual sustenance and eternal life that Jesus offers to all who believe in Him. It signifies a deep, personal relationship with God that quenches our spiritual thirst and renews our souls. What impact did the woman's testimony have on her community? Inspired by her encounter, the woman ran to tell her neighbors about Jesus. Her testimony was powerful and effective, leading many Samaritans to come to Jesus and believe in Him. This story highlights the importance of sharing our experiences of God’s grace and truth with others. How can you share your experiences of faith with those around you? Reflect on moments where you have felt God’s presence and guidance in your life. Like the Samaritan woman, your testimony can inspire and lead others to seek and experience Jesus’ transformative power. REFLECTION Reflect on your encounters with God and the ways they have transformed your life. Are there aspects of your faith journey that you can share to inspire others? This week, take a step to share your testimony with someone who might need encouragement. Pray for the courage to cross societal boundaries and engage with others in meaningful conversations about faith. Trust that your story, like the Samaritan woman's, can lead others to experience the love and grace of Jesus Christ. PRAYER But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. JOHN 4:14 Jesus, I thank You that You continually show me the life that I'm supposed to live. I thank You that as I read Your word You are continuously showing me that You love all people no matter where they come from, what they look like, or what reputation they have. I pray that You give me the same heart that is inside of You. Use me as a vessel to deliver the good news like a cool drink of water to a dry and thirsty soul. I will not shy away from an opportunity to introduce someone to Your eternal and perfect love. Bring me to the wells in life so that I can be surrounded by Your sons and daughters who need Your hope! Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Psalm 72:2 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. -Psalms 55:22 DEVOTION Based on Psalm 55 Cast' implies forceful action—hurling burdens away from yourself onto God. This isn't gentle laying down but desperate throwing. David knew that burdens retained are burdens that crush. The promise is twofold: He sustains the person and secures their position. 'Never suffer to be moved' means your circumstances may shake, but your foundation won't shift. God catches what we cast and holds whom He catches. A.C.T.S. REFLECTION ADORATION: Burden-bearer God, You invite the crushing weight I carry. You sustain when I cannot stand. I worship You, my unmovable foundation. CONFESSION: I confess holding onto burdens You've asked me to cast. THANKSGIVING: Thank You for Your strength that sustains and secures. SUPPLICATION: Help me throw every burden on You today, trusting Your sustaining power. PRAYER He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice. PSALM 72:2 Dear Lord, as I lay in my bed, I feel the weight of the day lift from my weary bones. My mind and body yearn for peace and rest. As I close my eyes, I offer up a prayer to the heavens above. I release all my worries and anxieties and lay them at Your feet. I give thanks for the blessings You have bestowed upon me today. As I enter the realm of sleep, let Your loving hands guide me into the land of dreams. May Your grace shine upon me like the stars in the sky, bringing peace and serenity to my heart. Blessed be Your glorious name forever. May the whole earth be filled with Your glory! Watch over my loved ones near and far, and let them feel Your love and care wherever they are. Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 John 2:15 Eternal life is a gift, freely given to those who believe. Today’s daily devotional is about Jesus cleansing the temple and His conversation with Nicodemus. Jesus drove out corrupt money-changers, restoring the temple’s sanctity. Later, He revealed to Nicodemus the profound truths of being born again and receiving eternal life, highlighting God’s love and salvation. STORY Bible in a Year: Flipping Tables and Eternal Life Scripture For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Have you ever felt a righteous anger against injustice? Jesus experienced this when He entered the temple during Passover and saw the sacred space turned into a marketplace. The temple, meant to be a place of worship and prayer, was corrupted by money-changers exploiting the people. Jesus' reaction was swift and decisive—He fashioned a whip and drove them out, restoring the temple’s sanctity and purpose. What does Jesus' cleansing of the temple teach us about standing up against wrongdoing? Jesus’ actions demonstrate the importance of preserving the sanctity of worship and standing up against corruption and exploitation. His righteous anger was rooted in a desire to honor God and protect the integrity of the temple. How do we respond to the injustices we encounter in our lives? Jesus' example encourages us to address wrongdoing with courage and conviction. Later that evening, Nicodemus, a Pharisee, sought out Jesus to understand more about His mission. Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus reveals the core of His message: being born again through faith and receiving eternal life. How does Jesus' teaching about being born again resonate with you? Jesus explained to Nicodemus that spiritual rebirth is essential for entering the Kingdom of God. This rebirth is not of the flesh, but of the Spirit, signifying a transformative relationship with God through faith. He emphasized that God’s love is so profound that He gave His only Son so that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. What steps can you take to deepen your faith and embrace the gift of eternal life? Reflect on your own spiritual journey and consider areas where you can grow in your relationship with God. Seek to understand and apply Jesus' teachings in your daily life, embracing the transformative power of being born again through the Holy Spirit. REFLECTION Reflect on the injustices around you and consider how you can stand up for what is right, following Jesus’ example. Are there areas in your life where you need to restore sanctity and purpose? This week, commit to addressing these areas with courage and conviction. Additionally, ponder the concept of being born again and what it means for your spiritual life. Embrace God’s love and the gift of salvation, seeking a deeper relationship with Him through prayer, study, and reflection. FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: SELF-CONTROL If you’re full, turn down second helpings at your next meal. We all have a God-given gift that sets us apart and allows us to lead with purpose. PRAYER And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; JOHN 2:15 I confess today, that zeal for Your house has consumed me! Move in my life so that I can stand for what is righteous, help me so that I can stand for what is godly. Move in my life and allow me to understand heavenly matters. As I look to You, Jesus, help me to understand that God loved me so much that He sent You as a bridge to connect me back into His loving arms. I praise You Lord that as I believe in Jesus Christ I will have access to eternal life. I thank You that You did not send Jesus to condemn me but to rescue me from my sins and from myself. The secret? 'Through Christ'—not around Him, not near Him, but through Him. This isn't prosperity gospel promising earthly success, but spiritual triumph in any circumstance. 'All things' means exactly what God calls you to, nothing more, nothing less. Strength isn't mustered; it's received. Christ doesn't just help; He empowers. A.C.T.S. 'Labour and heavy laden' describes every soul carrying life's weight. The promise isn't removal of burdens but rest while bearing them. This isn't the rest of inactivity but of intimacy—finding strength in His presence. He who spoke worlds into existence whispers peace to tired hearts. A.C.T.S. Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Mark 1:11 Obedience opens the door for God’s glory to be revealed. Today’s daily devotional is about Jesus' baptism by John and His temptation in the wilderness. God's voice affirmed Jesus' divine sonship, and after fasting for forty days, Jesus resisted Satan's temptations, demonstrating His faithfulness and strength. STORY Bible in a Year: Baptism and Temptation Scripture And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Matthew 3:17 Have you ever faced a pivotal moment that shaped your future? Jesus experienced such a moment when He was baptized by John the Baptist. As Jesus rose from the waters of the Jordan, the heavens opened, and God's voice proclaimed, "This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased." This divine affirmation marked the beginning of Jesus' public ministry, signaling His unique role in God's plan of salvation. How do you respond to God’s calling in your life? John the Baptist, despite his initial hesitation, obeyed Jesus' request to be baptized. His obedience allowed God's glory to be revealed in a profound way. Similarly, when we step out in faith and obedience, we open the door for God to work through us. What temptations challenge your faith and resolve? Immediately after His baptism, Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where He fasted for forty days and faced intense temptations from Satan. Each temptation was a test of His trust in God's provision, protection, and plan. Jesus' unwavering reliance on God's word and His rejection of Satan's offers serve as a powerful example of steadfast faith. How can you strengthen your resolve against temptation? Jesus' responses to Satan were rooted in Scripture, highlighting the importance of knowing and meditating on God's word. In times of trial, we too can draw strength from God's promises, resisting the allure of quick fixes or worldly solutions. REFLECTION Reflect on your own moments of divine calling and the challenges that followed. Are there areas where you need to trust more in God’s provision and protection? This week, focus on strengthening your spiritual discipline through prayer, fasting, and studying Scripture. Follow Jesus' example by standing firm against temptations with the truth of God's word. FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: SELF-CONTROL Limit your screen time by 30 minutes today and spend that time in prayer or reflection. PRAYER And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. MARK 1:11 As I step into my purpose I thank You that, like Jesus, I am being baptized into my new life and mission here on earth. Before I even begin, I thank You that also like Jesus, You have affirmed and validated me as Your Child. With my identity secured, I know that even as I walk through the deserts of temptation You are with me and have equipped me to overcome the lies of Satan. When I am tempted with comfort instead of commitment I will remind Satan of Your Word and command him to flee. When Satan tries to get me to doubt my identity I will remind him that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. When Satan tempts me with the luxury and fame of this world I will remind him that the source of my fulfillment comes from You Lord and that it is You who elevates me, and I will command him to flee! I thank You Lord that through Your word I have supernatural steadfastness and resolve. Satan has no authority over my life, and through the Life and death of Jesus I have complete victory! Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Luke 2:40 Spiritual growth begins with a thirst for God’s Word. Today’s daily devotional is about young Jesus staying behind in the Temple during Passover. Despite His parents’ concern, Jesus was deeply engaged in learning and teaching. This story highlights His early understanding of His divine mission and His growth in wisdom and favor. STORY Bible in a Year: Young Jesus Scripture And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. Luke 2:52 Have you ever felt a deep sense of purpose, even from a young age? Jesus, even as a boy, demonstrated a clear understanding of His mission. During an annual Passover visit, Mary and Joseph realized Jesus was not with their group as they left Jerusalem. After three anxious days, they found Him in the Temple, deeply engaged in learning and discussing God’s word with the priests. What can we learn from young Jesus' dedication to His purpose? Despite His tender age, Jesus showed a remarkable commitment to understanding and teaching God's word. His eagerness to learn and His profound questions astonished the religious teachers. This incident highlights the importance of nurturing our spiritual growth from a young age and seeking wisdom diligently. How do you respond when God’s plans are not fully understood by those around you? Mary and Joseph didn’t fully grasp Jesus’ actions, yet He respectfully obeyed them, returning to Nazareth. Jesus’ obedience to His earthly parents, while fully aware of His divine mission, teaches us the value of humility and submission in our relationships. What steps can you take to grow in wisdom and favor with God and others? Jesus’ growth in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man exemplifies a balanced life dedicated to spiritual, intellectual, and social development. As we reflect on His childhood, we are reminded to seek continuous growth in our faith and to live a life that honors God in every aspect. REFLECTION Reflect on your own spiritual journey and areas where you can grow in wisdom and favor. Are there aspects of your life where you need to seek more understanding or show greater humility? This week, commit to deepening your relationship with God through prayer, study, and reflection. Emulate Jesus’ dedication to learning and His obedience to His parents. FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: SELF-CONTROL Choose water instead of a sugary drink today. PRAYER And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. LUKE 2:40 As I continue to grow I thank You that I am increasing in wisdom and understanding like Jesus. Even when others don’t understand the magnitude of my calling I will remain true to what You’ve placed inside of me Lord. I choose to understand that sometimes the people closest to me won’t understand my anointing and that’s ok. Nevertheless I will not shrink or play small when it comes to walking in my divine identity. With Jesus as my focus I will learn to walk and talk in confidence as He did! I am ready to live to my fullest and be involved with my Heavenly Fathers Business…In Jesus’ Name, Amen. 🙏🏾Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/jarvis-kingston--1517583/support.
Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Psalm 66:5 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. -1 John 4:8 DEVOTION Based on 1 John 4 John makes the boldest statement in Scripture: God doesn't just have love or show love—He IS love. Love is His essence, His nature, His very being. Everything God does flows from love because He cannot act contrary to His nature. The test of knowing God isn't theological knowledge but love expression. If we don't love, we don't know God, regardless of our religious credentials. This verse both comforts and challenges. It comforts because God's every action toward us is motivated by love. It challenges because our love—or lack of it—reveals our true relationship with God. To know God is to become increasingly loving because we're being transformed into His image. A.C.T.S. REFLECTION ADORATION: God, You are love itself—pure, perfect, eternal love. Every attribute You possess is expressed through love. You cannot act outside of love because love is who You are. CONFESSION: I confess that my lack of love reveals my shallow knowledge of You. I've claimed to know You while living unlovingly. My heart has been cold when Yours burns with love. THANKSGIVING: Thank You that You are love—not sometimes but always, not partially but completely. Thank You that knowing You means being transformed by love and into love. SUPPLICATION: Father, help me know You more deeply so I can love more truly. Transform my heart to reflect Your loving nature. Let my life be proof that I know the God who is love. ❤️ PRAYER Come, and see God’s deeds— awesome work on behalf of the children of men. PSALM 66:5 Dear God, tonight as I wind down, I am reminded of the still waters that calm my soul. Your presence calms me like gentle waves against the shore. I thank You for the gift of another day. The challenges and triumphs of today have brought me one step closer to fulfilling Your purpose for my life. And as I close my eyes tonight, I pray that You will attend to the voice of my prayer and hear my deepest desires. Help me to align my will with Yours and to trust that Your plans for me are more extraordinary than anything I can imagine. May I rest knowing that You are the living water that quenches my thirst for meaning and purpose. Thank You, God, for the peace that comes from knowing that You are always with me. May Your love surround me like the waves of the sea, carrying me into a deep and restful sleep. In Jesus’s holy name, I pray, Amen. 🙏🏾 PRAY FOR YOUR COMMUNITYBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/jarvis-kingston--1517583/support.
Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Psalm 65:5 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. -John 15:12 DEVOTION Based on John 15 Jesus makes love a command, not a suggestion. "As I have loved you" sets an impossible standard—sacrificial, unconditional, laying-down-your-life love. He demonstrated this love hours later on the cross. This isn't loving the lovable but loving like Jesus: washing feet of betrayers, forgiving crucifiers, embracing outcasts. "One another" means within the body of Christ, our love should be so radical that the world takes notice. This commandment isn't about feeling but choosing—deciding to love when it's difficult, inconvenient, or costly. When Christians love each other with Christ's love, we become living proof of the gospel. The world can argue with our theology but not with our love. A.C.T.S. REFLECTION ADORATION: Lord Jesus, Your love sets the standard—selfless, sacrificial, boundless. You loved us when we were unlovable, served us when we deserved judgment. CONFESSION: I confess loving conditionally, not as You loved. I've withheld love from difficult people, loved only those who love me back. My love has been shallow compared to Yours. THANKSGIVING: Thank You for showing me what love looks like through Your life and death. Thank You for commanding love, making it non-optional. Thank You for empowering me to love like You. SUPPLICATION: Lord, help me obey this commandment today. Show me someone who needs Your love through me. Give me strength to love sacrificially, especially when it's hard. PRAYER By awesome deeds of righteousness, you answer us, God of our salvation. You who are the hope of all the ends of the earth, of those who are far away on the sea. PSALM 65:5 Dear Lord, as I lay down to rest, I am grateful for the goodness and grace surrounding me. In this peaceful moment, I lift my voice to You, O God of our salvation, with all the gratitude and gladness of a heart that knows Your love. By marvelous deeds, You answer me with righteousness, and in the stillness of this night, I am filled with wonder at the majesty of Your creation. The stars that twinkle above me cast a glow of peace and tranquility, and the soft rustling of the leaves reminds me that I am never truly alone. Even as I close my eyes, I feel Your spirit comforting and keeping me safe. At this moment, I know that I am loved and cherished and that nothing can ever separate me from Your embrace. As I drift off to sleep, I give thanks for the beauty surrounding me and the landscape that speaks of Your glory and power. Keep me safe and secure in Your perfect love. Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Luke 2:7 Hope often arrives in the most unexpected places. Today’s daily devotional is about the birth of Jesus. Mary and Joseph, unable to find lodging, welcome Jesus in a stable. Shepherds and Simeon recognize His divine mission. This story highlights the humble beginnings of our Savior and the fulfillment of God's promise. STORY Bible in a Year: The Birth of Jesus Scripture For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. Luke 2:30-32 Have you ever found hope in the most unexpected places? Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem was filled with challenges. Amid the hustle and bustle of a crowded city, they found refuge in a simple stable, where Mary gave birth to Jesus. Despite these humble beginnings, this event marked the arrival of our Savior, a moment that changed the world forever. How do you perceive God's presence in humble or difficult circumstances? Shepherds, considered lowly in society, were the first to receive the heavenly announcement of Jesus' birth. Their immediate response was to seek out and worship the newborn King. This act underscores that God's message is for everyone, regardless of status or circumstance. What does the shepherds' response teach us about seeking Jesus in our lives? The shepherds' eagerness and joy reflect the importance of recognizing and celebrating God's work in our daily lives. Eight days later, when Jesus was presented at the temple, Simeon, a devout man, recognized Jesus as the promised Messiah. His prophecy highlighted Jesus' mission to bring light and salvation to all. How can Simeon’s faith inspire your own walk with God? Simeon's long-awaited encounter with Jesus reminds us of the importance of patience and faith in God's promises. This story encourages us to look beyond our immediate surroundings and recognize the profound ways God is working, often through the most unlikely circumstances. REFLECTION Reflect on the humble circumstances of Jesus’ birth. Are there areas in your life where you overlook God’s presence because they seem too ordinary or difficult? This week, take time to see God’s hand in the simple and humble aspects of your life. Embrace the lessons of the shepherds and Simeon by seeking Jesus with eagerness and faith. FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: FAITHFULNESS Apologize where you need to and make things right. PRAYER And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. LUKE 2:7 Lord, I know that You are the Creator of all things! Because You have already planned out my Life, I will not allow myself to be disheartened when I am led to give birth to my dreams in undesired circumstances. Like Jesus, my calling isn’t determined by my surroundings but is determined by my anointing. With this truth guiding my life I thank You that when You bring forth Your promise through me You will also bring people like Simeon to me to confirm what You’ve spoken over my life. I will not despise the location of my beginnings because I know that where I currently am isn’t where I'll end up. Like Jesus, You’ve called me with a purpose and I’ll shine bright no matter where I start because with You Lord I know that my finish line will be glorious. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. 🙏🏾Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/jarvis-kingston--1517583/support.
Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Psalm 63:3 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. -John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. -1 John 3:18 DEVOTION Based on John 3 This verse draws the clearest line in Scripture: belief in Jesus removes condemnation completely. "Not condemned" isn't future tense but present reality—believers stand uncondemned right now. The unbeliever isn't waiting for judgment but living under it already. The difference isn't good works versus bad works but faith versus unbelief. "The name" represents everything Jesus is—Savior, Lord, God's Son. To believe in His name is to trust His complete sufficiency for salvation. This verse destroys both self-righteousness and hopelessness. We can't earn our way out of condemnation, but we don't have to—Jesus already paid for our freedom. One choice changes everything: believe and live uncondemned. A.C.T.S. REFLECTION ADORATION: Lord Jesus, You are the only begotten Son who takes away condemnation. You stand between us and judgment, offering freedom to all who believe in Your name. CONFESSION: I confess sometimes living as if I'm still condemned, forgetting the power of believing in You. I've tried to earn what You freely give and doubted the completeness of Your salvation. THANKSGIVING: Thank You that condemnation is completely removed through faith in You. Thank You that believing is enough—no earning, no proving, just trusting. Thank You for this simple, profound truth. SUPPLICATION: Lord, help me live in the freedom of no condemnation. Strengthen my faith in Your name. Use me to share this truth with those still living under condemnation. PRAYER Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you. PSALM 63:3 Heavenly Father, from You, springs forth rivers of living water. When I feel dry and devoid of life, Your Spirit revives me. Because Your love is better than life, I will praise and lift my hands in worship. As I lie down to rest, I will remember Your goodness. I will meditate on Your character and be comforted by Your commandments. Lord, I want my soul to cling tightly to You as a child does to his father. I want to rejoice that You are near and fall asleep with satisfaction and cheer. Your glory and grace give me assurance and alleviation of anxiety. May I slip blissfully into sleep with You on my mind. Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Luke 1:13 Faith is trusting God’s timing ⏱️ even in long seasons of silence. Today’s daily devotional is about the birth of John the Baptist and the announcement of Jesus' birth. God ends 400 years of silence with miraculous messages to Zechariah and Mary, heralding the arrival of the forerunner and the Messiah. STORY Bible in a Year: The Birth of John the Baptist Scripture And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways. Luke 1:76 Have you ever waited for something so long that hope began to fade? Imagine the people of Israel, who had not heard from a prophet for 400 years. In this silence, Zechariah, a faithful priest, was chosen to burn incense in the Temple. During his duty, the angel Gabriel appeared with astounding news: he and his wife, Elizabeth, would have a son. This child, John, would prepare the way for the Lord. How do you respond when God’s promises seem delayed? Zechariah’s initial doubt led to his temporary inability to speak, reminding us to trust in God’s timing. Meanwhile, Mary, Elizabeth’s young cousin, received a message from Gabriel that she would bear Jesus, the Messiah, despite being a virgin. Mary’s humble acceptance of this extraordinary calling shows profound faith and obedience. What lessons can we learn from Mary's response to God's call? Her willingness to serve God without understanding all the details demonstrates a deep trust. Similarly, Elizabeth’s miraculous pregnancy in her old age highlights God’s power to fulfill His promises against all odds. These events emphasize that God’s plans often unfold in ways beyond our comprehension, requiring our faith and submission. How does the story of John’s and Jesus’ births encourage you today? As we reflect on these miraculous events, we are reminded that God’s promises never fail. Even in long seasons of waiting or uncertainty, God is at work, orchestrating His divine plan. Our role is to remain faithful, trust His timing, and embrace His calling with courage and humility. REFLECTION Reflect on the promises God has made in your life. Are there areas where you struggle to see His hand at work? Remember Zechariah and Mary, who both faced extraordinary circumstances with faith. Take time this week to pray for patience and trust in God’s timing. FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: FAITHFULNESS Thank God out loud for one specific promise He’s kept. PRAYER But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. LUKE 1:13 Lord, when I’m praying for things to come forth in my life I will not look at my circumstances to determine whether or not it will come into fruition. I will not laugh in disbelief like Zachariah, You will not have to silence my lips because of unbelief. Instead, I will take on the posture of Mary when the angel of the Lord appeared to her and proclaimed that she would give birth to Jesus the messiah and accept Your word as truth with no questions asked. Thank You in advance for setting people in my life like John The Baptist, who will help pave the way for Your calling in my life. As You deposit the seed of purpose in me, like Mary and Elizabeth, surround me with others whose purposes will leap within them as we join in fellowship and build each other up! I stand in anticipation because I know that whatever dream You’re birthing inside of me will echo in the halls of eternity. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. 🙏🏾Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/jarvis-kingston--1517583/support.
Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Psalm 61:2 1 Corinthians 13:4 Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. 1 Corinthians 13:5 It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. 1 Corinthians 13:6 It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. 1 Corinthians 13:7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. 1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth]. DEVOTION Based on 1 Corinthians 13 Love is a verb, not just a feeling—Paul gives us fifteen actions that define it. Patient when people are difficult, kind when they don't deserve it. Never jealous of others' blessings, never boastful about our own. Love has manners, puts others first, keeps its temper. It doesn't keep score of wrongs or celebrate when others fall. Love throws a party for truth, bears unbearable burdens, believes the best when evidence suggests the worst, hopes when hope seems foolish, endures what seems unendurable. This isn't human love but divine love flowing through human vessels. Every characteristic listed is how God loves us—this passage is a portrait of Jesus. A.C.T.S. REFLECTION ADORATION: Perfect Love, You embody every quality listed here. You are endlessly patient with me, unceasingly kind, never jealous or proud. Your love never fails, never ends, never gives up. CONFESSION: I confess how far I fall short of this love. I'm impatient, unkind, jealous, proud. I keep records of wrongs and give up too easily. My love is conditional and limited. THANKSGIVING: Thank You for loving me with this perfect love when I'm so imperfect. Thank You for being patient when I'm difficult, kind when I'm ungrateful, hopeful when I'm hopeless. SUPPLICATION: Lord, teach me to love like You love. Help me be patient today, kind today, humble today. Give me strength to bear, believe, hope, and endure all things through Your love. PRAYER From the end of the earth, I will call to you when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. PSALM 61:2 Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer. I am crying out to You, seeking Your mercy and grace. I am weary and weak, feeling the world's weight on my shoulders. My heart is faint, and my mind is clouded. But I know that You are the rock higher than me, and I look to You for strength and guidance. Lord, You have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. You have protected me in the past, and I trust You will continue to watch over me tonight. Help me let go of my worries and fears and rest in knowing that You are always with me. May Your peace fill my heart and Your love surround me as I sleep. Thank You, God, for Your constant presence in my life. As I close my eyes tonight, I know I am safe in Your hands. Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Psalm 60:12 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. -1 Corinthians 13:1 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. -1 Corinthians 13:2 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. -1 Corinthians 13:3 DEVOTION Based on 1 Corinthians 13 Paul demolishes our performance-based Christianity with one word: love. Eloquence without love is just noise. Spiritual gifts without love are empty displays. Knowledge without love puffs up. Even mountain-moving faith means nothing without love. We can be theologically correct and spiritually bankrupt, gifted yet graceless. Love isn't an add-on to ministry but its essence. Without it, we're spiritual zeros no matter our accomplishments. This challenges every achievement-oriented believer: God measures success by love, not by gifts or works. The most eloquent sermon, profound prophecy, or sacrificial service means nothing if love isn't the motivation. Love transforms religious activity into Kingdom impact. A.C.T.S. REFLECTION ADORATION: God, You are love itself. Every act flows from Your loving heart. You measure greatness not by gifts but by love, not by performance but by compassion. CONFESSION: I confess prioritizing gifts over love, performance over people. I've been a noisy gong, impressing others while lacking love. My religious activities have often been loveless. THANKSGIVING: Thank You that Your love for me isn't based on my performance. Thank You for showing me that love matters more than any spiritual accomplishment. SUPPLICATION: Lord, fill me with Your love. Help me pursue love above all spiritual gifts. Let every word, action, and service flow from genuine love. Make me effective through love, not just activity. PRAYER Through God, we will do valiantly. For it is he who will tread down our enemies. PSALM 60:12 Dear God, grant me the peace that surpasses all understanding. Today's battles have been fought and won with Your steadfast help, and I trust in Your sovereignty to carry me through the night. You are the greatest source of help against the foe, and Your divine intervention is the only solution to man's vain attempts at self-salvation. In this moment of quiet reflection, I thank You for Your unwavering love and faithfulness. I am grateful for the blessings of today and the lessons learned from my struggles. And as I lay myself to rest, I find solace in Your presence. With You, Oh God, I am never alone, and Your grace sustains me even in my darkest moments.
