Episode 20: King Fae

2020-03-1501:10:22

It’s our 20th Episode and Jon pulls a mad one out of the bag to mark the occasion. Folklorish body-horror abounds in Act 3’s ‘King Fae’ – an English yarn with a gruesome finale. Act 1 sees some listener additions to Ep19’s ‘The Vaults’, whilst Act 2 covers ‘How to Stare at Famous People’.. like, just in general, as well as the horror movies Snatchers and I Trapped the Devil, and LMAHMPod’s survival tips for the COVID19 pandemic. Act 3 is the aforementioned ‘King Fae’ horror movie pitch, whilst Act 4 is the post-mortem and title-search as well as Jon’s recollections of the famous Mary Poppins out-take ‘defecation scene’. And much more, including free, niche books!Act 1 – 05:42m - Listener feedback & updates to Ep19’s pitch ‘The Vaults’. Act 2 – 13:00m - This fortnight’s horrorishy cultural highlights Act 3 – 23:00m - Horror Pitch: King Fae Act 4 – 49:33m - Pitch Post-mortem & title brainstorm + 60.50m Jon’s Julie Andrews & Mary Poppins recollectionsAs ever, contributions & input welcomed – find as at letsmakeahorrormovie@gmail.com or Twitter @LMAHMpod, Instagram, The Guild of Clives, Binary Phone, House visit, Semaphore, Stigmata, etc
Episode 19: The Vaults

Episode 19: The Vaults

2020-03-0401:10:53

“It’s all Brow”. Ep19 arrives with a contemporary, ghoulish horror movie pitch from co-host Dave and it’s a straight up gore-fest. But the fun kind. Set in “one of the most haunted places in the UK”, there’s a touch of the ‘will they’, ‘won’t they’ keep hold of their own face. A story as old as time. Act 1 delivers some dedicated Nun feedback from those in the know, whilst Act 2 touches on some good horrory reads as well as a quick swerve into Aesop’s classic ‘The Tale of The P!ss!ng Shrew’. Act 3 is the soon to be modern classic ‘The Vaults’, whilst Act 4 delivers a flurry of alternate titles. Oh and for some reason Robert Durst is in this one. Briefly.Act 1 – 02:52m - Listener feedback & updates to Ep18’s pitch ‘Mission’. Act 2 – 15:55m - This fortnight’s horrorishy cultural highlights Act 3 – 20:40m - Horror Pitch: The Vaults Act 4 – 63:04m - Pitch Post-mortem & title brainstormAs ever, contributions & input welcomed – find as at letsmakeahorrormovie@gmail.com or Twitter @LMAHMpod, Instagram, The Guild of Clives, Binary Phone, House visit, Semaphore, Stigmata, etc
Episode 18: Mission

Episode 18: Mission

2020-02-1901:10:16

Stepping up like a true gentleman when co-host Dave is in need, Jon takes the reins again this week with ‘Mission’. A bleak, claustrophobic horror set in a house of Nuns. A Mission, if you will. *cough* Anyhoo, in a blasphemous break from tradition, this is the second Jon-pitch episode in a row, but boy it delivers! Dave does contribute a bit by causing the sound to go haywire for the first 3 mins before finally arriving at something moderately audible. It’s worth it though as in Act 1 we receive some feedback castigation from ‘JDubz’ (and some ideas for Ep17’s pitch), Act 2 touches on a few books before veering off into ‘Zulu Jesus’, Act 3 of course is Jon’s dark pitch ‘Mission’, and bringing up the rear as always now in Act 4 is a quick natter on the pitch ideas before more Zulu Jesus, some Jonny Ghand, Sister Rodimus Prime and the Great Star Wars controversy of 'One Glove'. Act 1 – 02:36m - Listener feedback & updates to Ep17’s pitch ‘Nuckelavee Country’. Act 2 – 14:19m - This fortnight’s horrorishy cultural highlights Act 3 – 23:54m - Horror Pitch: Mission Act 4 – 48:14m - Pitch Post-morten, title brainstorm, Zulu Jesus + Jonny Ghandi + Sister Rodimus Prime + Star Wars 'One Glove' controversyAs ever, contributions & input welcomed – find as at letsmakeahorrormovie@gmail.com or Twitter @LMAHMpod, Instagram, Telegram, The Guild of Clives, Binary Phone, House visit, SMS, Semaphore, Stigmata, etc
It’s Episode 17! A Jon week and the final part of our Sequels Month. In Act 3 3DK delivers his follow up to Dave’s to ‘A Long Way From God’ (from ‘Early Years LMAHMPod’) with a cannibalism infused, Scottish Highlands escapade including a regiment of the Queen’s finest and a satchel full of eyeballs! Act 1 as ever sees feedback on last episode’s pitch with a veritable feast of input from listeners, whilst Act 2 takes a brief look at the Witcher but is more a long winded apology to Mr Cavill and a paen to his nocturnal habits, amongst other cultural touchpoints from the last fortnight. Act 3 is the pitch and Act 4 gives us the pitch post-mortem as well as a bizarre conversation about inter-species onanism, specifically regarding Jon and Primates in a life or death hypothetical. I mean, it’s us, what were you expecting?Oh and sorry its bit late.Act 1 – 3:33m   – Listener updates to Ep16's ‘Fertilized Earth’ sequel Act 2 – 19:33m – This week’s horrorishy cultural highlights Act 3 – 27:37m – Horror Pitch: Nuckelavee Country – sequel to A Long Way From God (Ep#4) Act 4 – 53:18m – Pitch Post-mortem, titles & Gorilla Onanism with 3DK!As ever, contributions & input welcomed – find as at letsmakeahorrormovie@gmail.com or Twitter @LMAHMpod, Instagram, Telegram, The Guild of Clives, Binary Phone, House visit, SMS, Semaphore, HitFast or Jeremy.
It’s ‘Sequels Month’ here at LMAHMpod, and as it’s a Dave week he kicks proceedings off with a brutal, desolate sequel to Jon’s Episode 13 Pitch ‘Goodbye Tomorrow’. Picking up the futuristic setting 6 years after the events of the first somewhat sci-fi infused horror movie pitch, Dave adds in some listener feedback from the original and fully lets the crazy out again. As usual there is listener Feedback to Ep15 in Act 1, which also takes a detour into 20 year old events from UK TV Soap ‘Hollyoaks’ with very little justification, before Act 2 jumps into BBC’s Dracula mini-series and a brainstorm around potential Harold ‘Harry’  / ‘Shippers’ Shipman movie titles. Act 3 as ever is the pitch itself – if you haven’t heard Episode 13, its not essential but you may enjoy it more if you do (or you may not, who knows!). And Act 4 is the pitch post-mortem, title brainstorm and a delirious segment on ‘Toilet Shows’. Yep.Act 1 – 4:30m   – Listener updates to Ep15's ‘Trying Christmas’ Act 2 – 17:48m – This week’s horrorishy cultural highlights Act 3 – 25:48m – Horror Pitch: Fertilized Earth – sequel to Goodbye Tomorrow (Ep#13) Act 4 – 54:25m – Pitch Post-mortem, titles & Toilet Shows! As ever, contributions & input welcomed – find as at letsmakeahorrormovie@gmail.com or Twitter @LMAHMpod, Instagram, Telegram, The Guild of Clives, Binary Phone, House visit, SMS, Semaphore, HitFast or Jeremy.
As 2020 rises from the ashes of 2019, Jon delivers his latest Horror Movie pitch in the form of ‘Trying Christmas’ – part two of our Christmas Specials! With touches of a historically accurate Victorian London throughout, this episode delivers all the usual farce. Act 1 sees some audience updates to last Episode’s ‘Sunken God’s pitch, Act 2 takes a Christmassy turn about the cultural grounds of the last fortnight, and Act 3 is Jon’s family-Christmas horror-pitch with a bunch of additional nonsense immediately preceding it. Act 4 is 5 mins of post-mortem followed by a quick name-search and hugely inappropriate laughing session to do with orphans. It’s really not a laughing matter.Act 1 – 4:24m   – Listener updates to ‘Sunken Gods’ Act 2 – 12:54m – This week’s horrorishy cultural highlights Act 3 – 23:42m – Horror Pitch: Trying Christmas Act 4 – 47:00m – Pitch Post-mortem, naming & utter nonsenseAs ever, contributions & input welcomed – find as at letsmakeahorrormovie@gmail.com or Twitter @LMAHMpod, Instagram, Telegram, Binary Phone, House visit, SMS, Semaphore, HitFast, Jeffrey or Flips.
Episode 14: Sunken Gods

Episode 14: Sunken Gods

2019-12-1801:08:44

Grab life by the neck, wrestle it to the ground and kick it to death with us in Episode 14 – the first of our two Christmas Specials! An aural Christmas stocking, it’s filled with glitter and pool balls, ready to be liberally applied to the face or head. Magical. It’s a Dave week and in Act 3 we cover off ‘Kid Smack’ and the problems of getting heroin for children at Christmas, as well as a getting a belting Horror Movie Pitch set in Ancient Greece – ‘Sunken Gods’. Act 1 sees some grim but wonderful listener updates to Ep13’s ‘Goodbye Tomorrow’ pitch, and Act 2 does a whistle-stop tour of the few things we’ve had the time to look at or hear, what with it being Christmas ‘n all. And there’s a bonus 4min ‘shot in the face’ analogy that really gets put through some gymnastics… If you like this episode, give us a Peregrine on Chopsy! (see Act 4).  Act 1 – 3:45   – Listener updates to ‘Goodbye Tomorrow’Act 2 – 14:53 – This week’s horrorishy cultural highlightsAct 3 – 22:53 – Horror Pitch: Sunken GodsAct 4 – 56:32 – Pitch Post Mortem, Title Brainstorm & nonsense. As ever, contributions & input welcomed – find as at letsmakeahorrormovie@gmail.com or Twitter @LMAHMpod, Instagram, Telegram, Binary Phone, House visit, SMS, Semaphore etc.
Jon barrels into LmaHmPod’s woodsy-cabin this week with our first firm foray into off-world oddities, Goodbye Tomorrow. An upbeat number about a sort of apocalypse. Sort of. It is a pitch for a horror movie after all. Act 1 sees, amongst others, some chunky feedback from JDubz, including some ‘far-seeing’ with feedback on today’s as yet unheard pitch! Act 2 as always rattles through the things we enjoyed that we stare at with our eyes, and there’s a snifter of an Act 4 given that Jon already pre-named his pitch. Tsk. Oh and Jon's new name is '3DK'.Act 1 – 4:20m   – Listener updates to ‘Down The Mountain’ &, weirdly, ‘Goodbye Tomorrow’ Act 2 – 21:22m – This week’s horrorishy cultural highlights Act 3 – 25:55m – Horror Pitch: Goodbye Tomorrow Act 4 – 46:55m – Pitch Post-mortemAs ever, contributions & input welcomed – find as at letsmakeahorrormovie@gmail.com or Twitter @LMAHMpod, Instagram, Telegram, Binary Phone, Home visit etc.
A somewhat recovered Dave takes centre stage in Act 3 for this episode’s Horror Movie pitch ‘Down The Mountain’. You know when stuff happens on a mountain, it’s infrequently pleasant. In Act 1 we’re treated to a listener’s ‘choose your own feedback’ feedback on the prior LMAHMian Gordian Knot  and Act 2 skates around things wot goes in ears and eyes. Also, probably 4 acts from here on fyi.. Lastly, Jons a bit quiet in the mix. The sound engineer is in pieces…Act 1 – 4:24m   – Listener updates to ‘The Education of Ellis’ Act 2 – 17:00m – This week’s horrorishy cultural highlights Act 3 – 23:27m – Horror Pitch: Down The Mountain Act 4 – 55:28m – Pitch Post-mortem, Title Brainstorm & Osama Bin Laden’s eyesAs ever, contributions & input welcomed – find as at letsmakeahorrormovie@gmail.com or Twitter @LMAHMpod, Instagram, Telegram, Binary Phone, Fibonacci sequence etc.
It’s a late showing for our Halloween Special second leg, arriving on the very eve itself.. Spooky! (Also illness.) Jon delivers a veritable feast of deceased 'younglings' in his quest to pitch a Horror Movie that ghoulishly delivers on the “true spirit of Halloween”. Act 1 kicks off LMAHMPod’s first inter-listener spat, whilst in Act 2 Dave & Jon take a brief wander through ITV’s latest Horror TV show, Halloween 3, Little Monsters and Creepshow. Act 3 is the pitch itself, and this week because we’re feeling whimsical, we’ve gone and got ourselves and Act 4 too.. ‘Appy ‘Alloweeen Everyone!Act 1 – 4:05m   – Listener updates to ‘The Last Bear’ & some ‘Boys on Bond’ malarkey Act 2 – 15:48m – This week’s horrorish cultural highlights Act 3 – 24:27m – Halloween Horror Pitch: The Education of Ellis Act 4 – 43:37m – Pitch Post-mortem, Title Brainstorm & ‘Verbinated’ surnamesAs ever, contributions & input welcomed – find as at letsmakeahorrormovie@gmail.com or Twitter @LMAHMpod, Instagram, Telegram, Binary Phone, Fibonacci sequence etc.
It’s October and the first of two Halloween Specials – apt for our 10th episode milestone! It’s also a Dave week, and in Act 3 he delivers his pitch ‘The Last Bear’, a modern tale of all hallows horror. In Act 1 we cover off feedback to Jon’s pitch ‘Hand of Anubis’ from Ep 9, and in Act 2 we take a turn about the grounds of the current cultural landscape inc. Molly Gloss & 3 From Hell. All heavily infused with silly, having previously been distilled in nonsense.  Also, most of the Beatles make an appearance… somehow or other.Act 1 – 4:00m   - Listener updates to ‘Hand of Anubis’ Act 2 – 11:40m - This week’s horrorish cultural highlights Act 3 – 19:35m – Halloween Horror Pitch: The Last Bear (pitch starts 24:40m.. you’ll see) As ever, contributions & input welcomed – find as at letsmakeahorrormovie@gmail.com or Twitter @LMAHMpod, Instagram, Telegram, Binary Phone, Fibonacci sequence etc.
Jon sallied into Episode 9 with the confidence of a man who knows he’s got a cracking horror movie pitch in his pocket. Being an ‘odds’ week its KJyon’s turn and he doesn’t disappoint with his delirious descent into the demented ‘Hand of Anubis’. JDubz pitches his thoughts on Ep 8’s ‘Spoils of War’ back to us in Act 1 (as well as a wee tune he made) and Act 2 touches on Tigers Are Not Afraid with an update on Jon’s ‘Kingian’ condition. Plus all the usual morbidly glib nonsense.Act 1 - 4m   - Listener updates to Spoils of WarAct 2 - 15m - This week’s horrorish cultural highlights Act 3 – 21m - Horror Pitch: Hand of Anubis (+post pitch movie title brainstorm)‘Clarence’As ever, contributions & input welcomed – find as at letsmakeahorrormovie@gmail.com and/or Twitter @LMAHMpod, Instagram, Telegram, Binary Phone etc.
Episode 8: Spoils Of War

Episode 8: Spoils Of War

2019-09-1601:11:16

It’s a Dave week. He’s had a drink, a bit tired, prone to a rant and more than a little bit sweary, however in Act 3 delivers ‘Spoils of War’, a horror movie pitch of [potentially] epic proportions, set in Asia Minor. Jon answers some feedback on Ep.7’s ‘Empty Skin’ pitch and accuses Stephen King of ‘borrowing’ his ideas, plus a quick note on Korean movie The Wrath as well as all the usual nonsense...  Oh and we have an intro. For now at least.Act 1  -  06:05m - Listener input for Ep.7’s ‘Empty Skin’Act 2  -  17:24m - Fortnightly Horror Highlights inc. Jeff Vandermeer & Ambergris Trilogy + The Wrath movieAct 3  -  28:46m - Horror Pitch: Spoils Of WarAct 4  -  60:06m - Post-mortem bits & piecesAs ever, contributions & input welcomed – find as at letsmakeahorrormovie@gmail.com and/or Twitter @LMAHMpod, Instagram, Telegram etc.
Episode 7: Empty Skin

Episode 7: Empty Skin

2019-09-0354:20

It's a Jon/John/Jhoyn pitch this week and it's a banger. His longest yet at 2 whole sides of A4! In this episode we cover off listener input & questions for 'The Haymakers Daughter', get some FrightFest movie updates from Jon and 2 bizarre rants from Dave. One on the 'live action' Lady and The Tramp' and the other on Mothman - the latter so unhinged we've given it a rare 4th Act status. With Act 3 bringing JJJ's pitch 'Empty Skin' - a creature feature!Act 1 - 04:50m - Listener updates to The Haymaker's DaughterAct 2 - 18:10m - This week's horror highlights (Frightfest inc. Continuing Dave & Jon's Horror Movie Pitch adventure, Dave regains the reins for this week's Horror effrontery. In this episode Act 1 sets The Triceratops on the right track with an embarrassment of listener improvements, someone continues picking holes in Ep4's demonic island antics and in Act 2 we discover Jon has been 'building up' to IT 2 in a sort of metaphysical sense whilst Dave has been putting things in his ears. Act 3 is another small mental breakdown. This time in t'English countryside in a not so distant future… or future past.. or future future.. or something..Act 1: 3:31 mins    - Triceratops Feedback & welcomeAct 2: 16:13 mins  - This week's horror highlights inc. Episode 5: Triceratops

Episode 5: Triceratops

2019-08-0401:01:56

It’s a Jon/John pitch-week. The Sawney Bean origin story movie-pitch from Ep 4 gets deliciously updated in Act 1, adding a bit more sauce to ‘the Beans’. Dave loses his marbles over 2003’s ‘TipToes’ whilst Jon advocates for more cannibalism in print. Also, Act 3 sees Jon pitch his dystopian nightmare movie – Triceratops.Act 1 – 8:14 mins  - A Long Way From God feedback Act 2 - 17:10 mins - TipToes, El Gigante, The Terror, nonsense Act 3 - 30:18 mins - Horror Pitch: TriceratopsPS please excuse the poor sound in this one, we were attacked by spiders, again. 100% Guaranteed better sound in the next ep or we’ll give everyone a free Lament Configuration! After a nightmarish mishap with the original Ep4 audio, Jon & Dave persevered. In this episode we recap on The Devil & Satan, mooch over a few movie gems (with a frank and bizarre reflection on the 'Cats' trailer) and get stuck into another Dave-pitch, this time about 'The Nuckelavee'. Its a Scottish one.Act 1 - 5:07 mins   - The Devil & Satan feedbackAct 2 - 9:50 mins   - This fortnight's cultural shenanigans inc. Calibre and The Night ShifterAct 3 - 22:46 mins - Horror Pitch: A Long Way From God, plus associated banter. 'The Sharrow' - 72:38 mins
Hot on the heels of episode two, we cover off updates to The House Across the Street, have a jovial word salad about things we’ve pointed our eyes at recently, and finish up with another Jon story – The Devil & Satan. Oh, and the audio is much improved this week… Act 1 - 0 mins - Malarkey & catch-up on last week Act 2 - 10:22 mins - This week’s cultural highlights & verbal goulash inc.
