"People Pleasing" My Experience. What It Means to Me and How I Deal With It."

So today's topic is all about people pleasing. I personally have a ton of experience with this as I've had people pleasing tendencies since I was a kid. i think, just like anything, people pleasing has it's pros and cons. It can go from an innocent display of love or care to a toxic obligation to appease that ends up violating your boundaries and even your self - respect. everything in between that I think is up for debate on whether it's necessarily good or bad. People pleasing I think can come from many personal needs and desires, such as the desire to fit into a group of people or the need to feel wanted and appreciated. I think all of us have some people pleasing in us. Especially when were younger and more malleable. but as we grow up I think it's important to identify what the cons can be if things aren't balanced well. So I wanted to talk about my experience with people pleasing behavior with the hopes of not only venting for myself but maybe helping you, the listener get a better understanding of your own people pleasing tendencies and what to do about it. So without further ado, let's dive in to today's episode.   Hosted by Ausha. See ausha.co/privacy-policy for more information.

The Overpowered Upper Body Exercise You Need to Know About (Build Muscle & Strength FAST!)

So today I got another fitness focused episode, Talking all about the OP upper body exercise you may not have much experience or exposure to, The overhead barbell press. The press is in my opinion the best developer of raw upper body strength. The press is a fickle and unforgiving disciplinarian in technique and patience. The most dramatic changes in my real world strength from my upper body have come from when I got my press from 95 lbs to 185 lbs. No question. Many things felt lighter and man does it feel bad ass to get anything over 135 over your head and and then control it back down snug into the starting position. The press is a disciplinarian because once it gets heavy it allows very little room for error. If your technique is sloppy you almost certainly will fail. Unlike the squat or deadlift or even bench press which has several handicaps from either the amount of muscles you can use to help compensate for technique or the fact that you have a platform to push off of in the bench press that wont move ( hopefully ). So today I want to talk about why the press is important, some safety misconceptions about the press and then finally how to approach the press and what to expect when including it into your exercise routine for the first time. So without further ado let's get dive into todays content. Hosted by Ausha. See ausha.co/privacy-policy for more information.

Quality Relationship Building: Insights on Effective Communication

Today, I thought it would be a good idea to talk about communication, specifically sharing some tips that I've either learned or naturally possessed, which have significantly improved the quality of my relationships and my effectiveness in the workplace. I consider communication skills as a whole to be among the most important skills to have if you want to make your life easier and your relationships deeper and more meaningful. That being said, I believe some people mistakenly equate communication with merely talking a lot. While talking is undoubtedly a form of communication, it doesn't necessarily mean that you're expressing yourself effectively or that your message resonates with someone or has the desired impact on the listener. In fact, some people have the problem of over-communicating, saying more than necessary and losing the listener after just a few sentences. However, it's important to understand that communication extends beyond talking alone. There are other physical and psychological factors that come into play, making an interaction with someone much more impactful and significant. So, without further ado, let's discuss three valuable communication tips that I've learned, which have helped me form high-quality relationships.Hosted by Ausha. 3 Critical Mistakes I've Made During Years Of Working Out ( Avoid These at All Costs )

So today I got another fitness focused episode coming at ya. I wanted to talk to you today about some of the mistakes i've made over the years of my training since i started up until now. There's tons of them so im sure I could make this into multiple episodes. But for now I want to talk about just 3 with a bonus for my dedicated listeners. When i started in fitness. I watched a metric ton of youtube videos on how to optimize this how to do that. How this works how that works, How i can adjust my technique to do that. Why I should do this instead of that. The list goes on. In fitness theres about 10 answers to every question because of one overlapping answer - it depends. Such things are so individualized and there's so many factors that go into a person's fitness career to enhance success and efficiency. It can be REALLY easy to get lost in the sauce of all the learning material out there. Just as theres an abundance of ways to learn that also means by consequence that it can be really easy to get ahead of yourself and either do too much, too little or a combination of both. Now although perfection is never neccessary in fitness to grow. It can be quite challenging to dial in what works for you not only for now but for long term. So hopefully, by listening to these mistakes i've made, it can narrow down your obstacles a bit so you can have an easier time than i did figuring things out. So without further ado, let's dive right into it.  Hosted by Ausha. See ausha.co/privacy-policy for more information.

Feeling Stuck: How I Got Out of a Period Where I Felt Like I Couldn't Move Forward and What It Taught Me About Life.

So today, I want to talk about feeling like you're stuck in life. When I say 'stuck,' I mean being in a situation that may be comfortable or uncomfortable in life, and you can't seem to easily figure out or decide on your next step to take you where you want to be or somewhere else besides where you currently are. You might have too many options, feeling overwhelmed and hoping to narrow down the path that is best for you. On the other hand, you might have few to no readily visible options, leading to feelings of depression, anxiety, or both as you try to discover what you need to keep moving forward in a way that's fulfilling and meaningful for you. This topic hits close to home for me because within the last six months, I was indeed in a position of great uncertainty. After a series of events that occurred around the time I took a trip to Thailand, I found myself in a situation where it felt like my world had been flipped upside down. I needed to rethink my entire business strategy to regain a sense of forward progress in a productive way. So, I wanted to discuss that experience, how it made me feel, what I had to do, and what I learned. Without further ado, let's dive right in. Hosted by Ausha. The Squat: Utility & Misconceptions

Today's episode is all about the squat. The squat is the most productive movement you can possibly perform in the gym. It engages the greatest amount of muscle mass through the furthest range of motion while allowing for extremely heavy weights to be lifted. The squat not only builds physical strength like no other exercise but also enhances mental fortitude. Volunteering to place a bone-crushingly heavy load on your back, freeing it from the safety of the rack, stepping back with the weight, consciously sitting down with the feeble hope of being able to stand up again, and then doing that another 4 times for a set of 5 without quitting takes bravery. However, while the squat holds its well-earned merit as a physically and psychologically productive endeavor, it is not without controversy. From the classic "squats are bad for your knees" argument to squats being regarded as flat-out dangerous and everything in between, opinions vary but the facts don't. The only danger associated with squatting is what happens if you don't squat, which is that you will be weaker and more fragile than if you did squat, especially if you squatted DEEP. Hosted by Ausha. Time Management:Two Tactics that work best for me to get the most out of each day.

Today's episode is all about time management and how I've managed it in my life to be able to crank out tremendous amounts of work in either one sitting or an entire week. For a long time in the past, I used to find it really difficult to manage my time. A lot of the difficulty came from trying to do so without a real process or system in place, and trying to just go off the top of my head for everything, which was rarely ever reliable as I would forget many things frequently. Over time, I learned about different methods of time management and being productive. Being productive, I'll save for another episode, but for now, let's get into how I've learned to manage my time most effectively.Hosted by Ausha. See ausha.co/privacy-policy for more information.

Yes, You Can Run and Lift Weights: Here's How I Do Both, See Results, and Feel Great!

Running ( cardio ) and lifting weights has been one of those things that most lifters see as being incompatible. Many people believe that by doing both you have no chance of getting jacked and strong. As running takes away from the gains from lifting weights. This idea is pretty old and just kind of percieved as law for along time in bodybuilding and powerlifting gyms, especially powerlifting. However recently more and more evidence has been published that suggests that not only can cardio such as running not take away from your gains in the gym but it can actually benefit it if done properly. In my own experience i recently ran a hypertrophy program for about 8 weeks and noticed i had no problem keeping my muscle mass but even gained some in the process. It's all about how you program it so let's get into how running and lifting has been working for me and how you can implement it into your own routine. Hosted by Ausha. Coping with Loneliness in the Digital Era. What's Worked for Me.

So today, I wanted to talk about something that I think, as Gen Z or millennials, we all struggle with more than ever before, and that's loneliness. Loneliness is something that has been exacerbated and perpetuated by the ever-growing internet and social media footprint in modern life as we know it. It is arguably much easier to live a life devoid of the social skills that were required to integrate into society back in the days of our parents and grandparents. Nowadays, people form personalities behind computer screens and are less likely to integrate themselves in a fulfilling way in the real world. This naturally causes people to feel more lonely than ever before, with the illusion of being stimulated equal to being socially, mentally, and physically fulfilled. So, I wanted to talk about this problem and how I've dealt with it in my own life. Hopefully, it can help you manage loneliness in your own life when it tries to consume you.   Hosted by Ausha. "Empowerment Beyond The Barbell: The Life-Altering Impact of Strength Training for Women"

Today's episode is centered around how strength training has significantly improved the lives of my past and present female clients, but perhaps not for the reasons you might expect. Throughout my coaching career, I've primarily worked with women, and it's been a privilege to do so. They have truly been some of the most inspiring individuals I've had the honor of knowing, period. Prior to engaging in one-on-one coaching with women, I hadn't fully comprehended the experiences of being a woman in this day and age, nor had I fully appreciated the challenges they face and overcome on a level deeper than the surface. Therefore, I'd like to discuss three noticeable aspects that have changed significantly in these women after picking up a barbell. Without further ado, let's dive right in.  Hosted by Ausha. Navigating My Twenties: Confronting 3 Brutal Truths of Life

Some of the harshest lessons I've learned, although they've been some of the most painful, have also been the most useful and have stuck with me. Funny how that works, right? Painful memories tend to linger more than the good ones do. I've always wondered why that is, and I think that, upon further analysis, it's because negative memories help us navigate the world more efficiently and safely. It's a protective mechanism with the hope of making you wise enough to avoid repeating things that aren't serving you. Anyway, today's episode is all about three harsh truths that I've learned in my 20s, which have helped shape who I am. Listening to these might let you revel in relatability for things you already know, or you might pick up something new that can give you a fresh perspective. This new perspective can help prevent a lot of unnecessary future pain caused by naivety. So, without any further ado, let's delve into some wisdom this Monday morning. Hosted by Ausha.
