Happy New Year and welcome back for Season 4 of The Mindgame Podcast. 2022 wasn't the busiest but 2023 is going to be right up there with them. With that said, I wanted to kick off the first episode in the New Year focused on a new mindset to break the cycle of old.  New Years Resolutions are outdated, are misleading and not trustworthy. The New Year Same Me Mindset is about creating real and lasting change that is relative to you, change that you truly want, not what others want. In this episode we take a dive into why New Years Resolutions are a thing of the past, how the Fresh Start Effect can benefit you and what you can do to start making lasting positive change in your life.
This weeks episode is with Sean Kennedy. Sean is a businessman, Dad, start-up enthusiast, and mindset obsessed. A published author as well as the founder of Warren Allen Coffee, Barista School Ireland and The Sixty Second Journal.   A school leaver at 16, parent at 18 and a business owner at 19. Sean was never an academic in school, struggled with authority, discipline and routine. That said, there was always a strong desire to work, boundless ambition and a sometimes naive optimism. Sean shares what has taken him from that point, to where he is today as well as the challenges he still faces and the goals he has set his sights on.   In this episode we chat about Seans early challenges with failed businesses and mental heatlh and his journey dealing with all of it. Learning how to become a beter person while navigating the human condition.
We all struggle to achieve our goals at some point in our lives, we fall off the wagon and we give up on ourselves. Always asking, 'why is this happening?' Never being able to come to a proper conclusion. In this weeks episode, I dive into the idea of 'instant gratification' also known as present bias and why it might be the trap keeping us from achieving what we want in life. Not only do I try to create and understanding around what it is but I also go through some helpful, thought provoking and practical tips which come from the best behavioural scientists and psychologists.  For similar content visit my social channels Instagram TikTok LinkedIn
In this week’s episode I dive into the topic of Motivation and why we may currently find ourselves living in a state of despair and lack lustre. I dissect motivation from its biological beginnings to its current form of Motivation 3.0 which is grounded in the findings from Daniel Pinks book Drive - The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us. I also try to answer the question as to how we become more motivated going forward. For similar content visit my social channels Instagram TikTok LinkedIn
This weeks episode is with Zoë Dunlea. Zoë is a mindset coach specialising in helping her clients overcome debilitating & negative thoughts, using a pragmatic and simplistic approach to life. She aims to help as much people as possible to become compassionate, driven & powerful through creating self-awareness. Her coaching mantra is to help her clients in the way she wished she was helped, when she needed it the most. In this episode we chat about taking control of your life through a similar approach and look at how perspective might be keeping you stuck.
In this weeks episode I take a deep dive into some important rules which I choose to live my life by as much as possible. Using these seven rules as a lense, I disect them, broaden them and speak about how you could possibly apply them to your own realtive life and situation. Using personal experience and grounding it in psychological insight/tools, I try to make the concepts clear to understand.   The Seven Rules are as follows; Rule 1 Let go - Learning not to attach your identity, your being and your existence to one moment in your day or life, is a superpower Rule 2 Ignore them - by them I mean don’t listen to other people, don’t follow the opinions of the masses if it isn’t something you truly resonate with, live a life that is empowering to you, that fulfils you, that satisfies you, that helps you to be happy and most of all, the lights your match, and keeps your soul burning. Rule 3 Give it time - probably the hardest to accept as part of life and it is the concept of give it time. Time heals everything and as difficult as breakups, deaths of loved ones, loss of jobs, frustrations of life progress and failure can be, the only thing that can truly fix all of those things, is time. Rule 4 Don't compare - Yourself or your life to anyone. The only person you should try to be is yourself, the only person you should try to beat is the person you were yesterday Rule 5 Stay calm - Being calm in the face of emotions and being remaining calm on your journey. Rule 6 It's ALL on you - You are the only one in charge of your happiness, your wellbeing, your growth and your life. Rule 7 Smile - Life is way too short, so enjoy it while you can. We often times take things too seriously and we forget that everyday we wake up, we are literally a step closer to death and although that is a reality which is not meant to scare you, we sometimes forget that it’s happening. So would you not rather live a life filled with moments and experiences that you value, cherish and enjoy instead of hate?   For similar content visit my social channels Instagram TikTok LinkedIn
This weeks solo episode dives into the idea of happiness. More specifically, what we are possibly convincing ourselves to believe as 'real' happiness. In the modern era we live in, where distractions and quick stimulation are at the forefront of day-to- day living, the brain has been conditioned to seek out and hunt quick hits, highs. In this weeks episode I chat about the idea of happiness and through a psychological lens shed light on whether we are actually living happiness or constantly chasing highs which are disguised as happiness. Which is leading us further down a path of dissatisfaction and and unfulfilled life. For similar content visit my social channels Instagram TikTok LinkedIn

Simply because last weeks epsiode with my girlfriend was such a hit, we decided to record one where we talk about our own relationship and what we think makes relationships in general function better.  In this episode we speak about the idea of the 'perfect' relationship, how we have unrealistic expectations and what stops us from having a really genuine and fulfilling connection with someone.

Welcome back to another episode of Mindgame, episode 63 to be exact. This week is a short solo episode, where I dive into the concept of change and how most of us get caught up in repeating history, repeatig what does not work and what has not worked. Finding ourselves time and time again stuck where we started or even further back.  Have you ever stopped and asked yourself why you aren't thriving why you aren't feeling what you want to feel and why you haven't achieved all your goals?
