I woke up today with a renewed sense of urgency to take action and get back on track to making a difference and I decided to grab my phone and record this message for you. It's raw and real and early, but I hope it sparks something in you to inspire you to take control of your time, your life, and your legacy. XOXO Transcript: Welcome to the Power for Good podcast. I'm Sheryn Senn, your host and I'm really happy to have you here with me today. I wanted to record this episode because I've had a lot going on in my personal life lately and it's really been something that has been very hard for me, but also very eye-opening and teaching me a lot of new lessons. And I think that it's something that is really important for me to share with you. I've been feeling so much about how we spend our time and how we take for granted our time and how we just go about our day-to- day thinking that it's never going to end. And I don't want to sound morbid and I don't want to sound depressing, but I think that it's really important and really time for us to wake up and realize that at any moment, our time here could end. And what are you doing with the time that you do have? Are you just going through the motions each and every day? Are you really taking control of the time that you have? Or are you just letting it pass you by and just going through, you know, like I said, the day to day motions, doing what you think needs to get done, what you should be doing. You know, I hate shoulds. And so it's just been a time for me to really reevaluate why I'm here, what my purpose is, and really realize that that's what this is all about. Our time here is to fulfill our purpose, to be the best human we can be, and to really share what we have to offer with the world, to make it a better place before we leave it, right? And I want to leave a legacy. I want to make a difference and have people be affected by what I'm doing here. And in order for that to happen, I can't just go about my day, you know, and taking my time for granted and just doing the bare minimum. I need to step up and I think that that's where a lot of us are struggling is in the stepping up and maybe it's because you don't know what to do. You don't know why you're here. You don't know what you have to share. But there's things that you can do and that I can help you with to figure out what that is. And also, you know, I think that it's time to make it your priority. There isn't time to waste anymore. You know, our world is blowing up around us, right? And we can feel out of control. But the one thing you can control is you and your life. You can control what you do with your time, and I think we kind of lose sight of that. We kind of let outside circumstances control our time, control us when really we do have it inside of us to control it, and we're not taking advantage of that. So I think that to start the best thing is for you to really, really sit down and think about, if today was your last day, what would you want to leave behind? What legacy do you want? What do you want people to remember about what you did while you were here? And get really, really clear on that. And then you can start to take the steps to get to where you're doing that, where you are giving that. But I really, really want you to think about how important it is, and what a gift it is to even be here. You know, unfortunately, there are people that have left and haven't spent a lot of time here or have left before they got to that point or have left this earth, you know, just completely unexpectedly. And there are people that are suffering, knowing that their time is coming. They know that they've run out of time. They know they only have this much longer left. And we don't have that. You know, we have the the ability to think that we have all the time in the world, and so it's kind of like a catch 22 because like I was saying, we don't want to think that we're going to die tomorrow, right? I don't want you to feel that way. I want you to make plans as if you're going to be here forever and making a difference. But at the same time, I want you to also think about how that may not be the case and what can you do to take advantage of every single moment that you're here? Because there are too many people that don't have that. And it's just, when you're dealing with that or someone you love going through that, it really can wake you up. But I don't want it to take that. You know, that's the thing. It takes losing someone. It takes watching someone else suffering. It takes seeing that someone else's time is coming up to make us make a change. And then we kind of do it for maybe a temporary amount of time, and then we go back to our old ways and I know how hard it is. Don't get me wrong. I mean, I'm so guilty of it myself. Matter of fact, recently, I have been wasting a lot of time myself. I've been struggling with a lot. I've been going through a lot and dealing with a lot. And I have been so guilty of wasting time. But I just want to stop that for myself, and also I want to encourage you to realize that maybe that's what you're doing also, and what can you do to change that? Not just temporarily, but permanently. So I'm kind of rambling, I think, but hopefully I am saying things that will, you know, start to wake you up and make you realize that, you know, this is it. This is our one and only, you know? And we're just letting it slip by. You know, time goes so fast and we're just not taking advantage of it enough and we're just not giving ourselves enough credit as to what we're capable of and what we can control. And so this is something that just is really heavy on my heart right now because of, like I said, different things that I have going on and people that I love that are going through things. And I just want you to realize that you were put here for a reason. You are not like anyone else on this planet that is here now or that has ever been. We are all uniquely made to be different and there's a reason for that and we can't let that reason pass us by. We need to jump in, grab onto it, and do whatever we can to make the changes necessary to get us to the point where we're living each day in purpose and making a difference and taking action. So I hope that this will pump you up and hopefully motivate you to get clear and to start taking the time that you have and taking the control and the power back that you have to create a life that is not only incredible for you, but incredible for all the other people that you can touch. Have a great day and I hope that this sparks something inside of you. Thanks for tuning in.
