SHIFTING.... Over the past few weeks we have had deep discussions about what we are learning individually and how we will use this energy to re-align our mission. While we are so proud of what we have created, we are also profoundly aware of our shortcomings when it has come to sharing BIPOC voices. We take full accountability of this and are currently focusing on making enlightened changes to our platform. Moving forward into our second year of podcasting, we are determined to AMPLIFY, DIVERSIFY and promote INCLUSION through our guests, topics and social media. SHI(F)T HAPPENS is 100% our passion project. We create these episodes because we love connecting with incredible humans and are excited to continue to do so! Currently, we are taking time to actively re-evaluate, educate ourselves and create new content with amazing guests. While we do this, please enjoy a re-release of our conversation with Milwaukee’s own, Lex Allen in which they discuss their artistry, activism and authenticity. In solidarity, Dev, Tash and Jess

On Ep 27, we're joined by our good friend, favorite nomad, and the founder of The Nomad's Kitchen, Will Spurway. What better time to have a fun and lighthearted conversation with our pal across the pond. Spurway is from Somerset, England and is most passionate about sport and travel. With the help of football (soccer), he was able to leave home and move across the world to America at 19 to attend University. The adventure didn't stop there. He's since traveled to over 30 different countries, meeting new people, creating new experiences, and eventually, conjuring up his business plan. We chat with him about our longtime friendship and how he had a hand in introducing Dev and Jess to their now husbands. We cover the hows-and-whys of his landing in Milwaukee from his small home town, and his decision to travel the U.S. living out of a van (spoiler alert: it's not as glamorous as it seems on blogger sites). He also takes us through his solo journey around Central America and provides us some tips and tricks how to live on a budget. In traveling from place to place, The Nomad's Kitchen was inspired. It's girls night in...side our separate houses! For the past 14 months, we have seen each other at least once a week. Creating and connecting in person has been a constant that we have taken for granted. Now that we are in this time of transition and separation, we realized a check-in was desperately needed! So we poured ourselves some wine, jumped on Zoom and recorded our very first, fully virtual podcast. In this episode, we touch base on adjusting to our "new normal." We discuss how it's going re-structuring our days, wrapping our heads around what is going on in our world, and how Tiger King is blowing our minds. We share the ups and downs of working from home with our significant others; or in Tash's case, trying to stay out of the way while Nick is on video meetings (spoiler alert: she has already failed and embarrassed herself greatly.) We also share tips that have felt helpful combating anxiety and discuss the importance of getting over the "productivity guilt" and allowing ourselves to use this isolation in a way that feels good for our souls. This is a scary time full of uncertainty, but we do know there is light in the future. Hearing others share their feelings have helped us greatly in feeling less alone, and we hope this episode will do the same! Hey y'all, meet Amy! She founded PRESS in 2015 when she couldn't find a premium alcohol seltzer on the market. In between working a full-time job in advertising - and second full-time job as a single parent to a baby and toddler - she started experimenting with different flavor profiles and created the companies first flavor, Pomegranate Ginger, from her kitchen in Milwaukee! A friend of a friend connected her with a beverage manufacturer and she took the risk to leave her corporate job and dive headfirst into bringing PRESS to market. Amy's vision for PRESS really sets it apart. She sought to create an elevated seltzer experience that would appeal to discerning consumers like herself through "foodie" flavor profiles and understated, sophisticated branding. She also uniquely crafted PRESS at a lower ABV (4%) to be more sessionable, which also allows for the complex and subtle flavor notes to break through. We loved learning about her unconventional journey from a long-term career in advertising to founding a thriving alcoholic beverage company! She has worked her way to the top in a male-dominated industry by creating a conscious, high-quality product that truly caters to consumers. It was so fun to hear about how her love of food and travel inspired the creation of such unique and delicious flavors. PRESS takes the minimalist approach to drinking alcohol and is by far our favorite hard seltzer. Our conversation with Amy reminded us that it is never too late (or too early) to just go for it! We also chat about: An exciting new flavor about to hit the shelves Finding "me time" as an entrepreneur Where to find PRESS! Resources: Website: https://enjoypress.com Instagram: @pressseltzer
