Today I'm excited to talk about a topic that comes to me often in my one-on-one coaching sessions that usually comes from salon owners-hiring. Many times they are having an issue at their salon, but when you really get to the root cause of it, it breaks down to are they hiring the right people? Are they hiring into their core values for their salon?I'm also going to dive a little bit into some of the things we cover in my Elevate salon workshop because I'm finding this a consistent pattern. I'm getting the same questions and the same problems so why not dive into some solutions? If you are a salon owner, aspiring salon owner or maybe you just work at a salon or are in the business and are curious about some of the challenges and solutions you can have, grab your notebook, and let's get limitless! Also stick around at the end of the episode for a little gender reveal of my first baby!SHADOW DAY:https://michellesenour.com/shadow-dayCONNECT WITH ME:@beautyby_michellesenour@thelimitless.podcastASK ME ANYTHING:https://michellesenour.com/ask-me-anythingKEEP UP WITH THE LATEST: https://michellesenour.com/the-limitless-podcast

Today I am so excited to finally chat about my Elevate workshop which is a two day experience for salon owners. What was really unique about this experience-I’ve never done education like this before-was that it was a small, intimate group of salon owners that I actually hand-picked. One thing they all had in common is that in one way or another they were seeking to elevate their business. It was so beautiful to be strategic in who I put together in the room because one thing about owning a business or having a salon in general is that it can be a little isolating sometimes. You think you should always have the answers and there is no manual on how to run a salon! So it was so incredible to bring everyone together where they were able to learn from me, but they were also able to learn from each other. We got to brainstorm together, we had strategic business building sessions and some really cool activities that got them thinking differently, and one of the best parts is that they got to connect with other entrepreneurs that are in the same boat and get them!
On today’s episode I have some live clips from my experience that I want to give you guys a little behind the scenes moment. I’m so excited to share this with you and if it resonates with you or someone you know pass it along because we have next year’s wait lists open! I wanted to jump on today in real time to discuss something that has been taking up so much of my time and energy recently-salon booking and processing systems. As many of my listeners know, I recently made the switch from a commission salon to a hybrid rental salon and I have been having the craziest time finding a salon system that functions the way I would like and that covers our needs from the client perspective and from an employer perspective. I thought this would be a great opportunity to talk about some of the systems we have in place as a salon that work, how we’ve had to pivot many times to find different solutions, and how to stand up for your client’s and team’s needs as a leader. Today I am fresh of the airplane and ready to put some realness into this podcast, but wanted to jump on to share what I just experienced right away! I had the opportunity to attend Powerhouse Women which is an event in Scottsdale, AZ. I got to listen to some extremely powerful stories from women entrepreneurs that were so inspiring. My notes section in my phone is full of bullet points that help me jog my memory to what I felt when I heard that message. They had so many good one liners and I really wanted to take the opportunity to share some of those that hit me and also why they hit me.
If you don't know what Powerhouse Women is that's totally fine! Lindsey Schwartz is the creator and she is such an inspirational woman that has a heart of gold and you can just feel that through the way that she presents, how she speaks and how she connects with you. I was really drawn to her which is why I initially wanted to attend Powerhouse Women. The whole intent of this event is to allow you to connect with other women who want more-there were 800 women there!- obviously to have some fun, and to be inspired by all of the speakers and feel what's next for you. For me, I got the opportunity to step away and really reconnect with myself and can't wait to share with you what I've taken away from this. So grab those notebooks and let's get limitless!

Today we have a return guest and friend of the pod, the goddess herself, Diana! In case you missed her previous episode (11 in season 1), Diana is a permanent makeup specialist who has grown her business from the bottom up and isn’t stopping anywhere soon. Her story is so inspirational and I definitely recommend going back to listen to that episode to catch more about her background.
Today I have her back on because we recently were chatting over instagram about the beauty industry and alllll the changes it has been going through recently. Obviously the covid pandemic shifted a lot of people’s businesses and mindsets, but we now are noticing even different transitions from saturated markets to burnt out clients to financial decisions. We chat about how to navigate these global trends, supporting one another and pivoting business strategies with client needs, so grab those notebooks and let’s get limitless!
