He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and mathematics and M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. He has received numerous awards for his work in edge computing and wireless resource allocation, and holds 25 patents. He has also founded three companies and has published several influential books. During his time at Purdue, Marcus Lannie grew the purdue ASME organization from 10 to 300 members, was receipt of the Purdue Engineering fellows award, the highest engineering honor at Purdue, and recently received the 2022 ASME Charles T. Main Student Section Leadership Gold Medal. In this episode we sit down with current President of Purdue University, Mitch Daniels. Before leading as President of Purdue University for over 12 years, President Daniels was elected Governor of Indiana in 2004 and reelected in 2008. He was also the director of the Office of Management and Budget under President George W. Bush’s cabinet and a senior aide to President Ronald Reagan. Furthermore, he also worked in the private sector as Senior Vice President at Eli Lilly and Company, Indiana’s largest corporation. He is a graduate of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and has a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Dr. Joseph Chen attended Purdue University and has a Phd in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering and has now been teaching at Purdue University for over 11 years.
