We are living in extraordinary times—times when the very idea of “normal” has dissolved. Guardrails are gone. Institutions are hollowed out. Rights are being stripped away. People are being silenced, canceled, and deported without due process. In this episode of The New Beyond, Dr. Judith Rich asks the question that may well define this era: What will be the story of this time?Drawing inspiration from the musical Hamilton and its haunting refrain—“Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?”—Judith explores how history will remember this moment, and how each of us will be remembered for the choices we make or fail to make. With Pluto in Aquarius for the next 20 years, we are in a cycle of transformation, disruption, and awakening. This is not about “returning to normal.” This is about building something new.In this episode, you’ll hear:Why the old idea of “normal” is gone for goodHow institutions and rights are being stripped away in real timeThe tension between free speech, censorship, and authoritarianismWhy the story of this time will depend on how we show upA call to courage, action, and soul alignment in the face of fearThis is not just history unfolding “out there.” This is your story, my story, our story. And it is still being written.Resources & Links:Learn more about Soul Food: Daily Nourishment for the Sacred Self here. In this intimate conversation, I sat down with my friend Kate Houston—a coach, creative, and courageous truth-teller—who is currently navigating breast cancer and reconstruction. This is not a “power through it” story. It’s a living meditation on uncertainty, grief, body image, community, and the fierce tenderness it takes to belong to yourself when everything changes. Together we explore how illness can become initiation, how creativity keeps the soul speaking, and why being seen—messy, raw, and real—is its own form of medicine. What We ExploreThe moment life divides into “before” and “after”—and how to meet it with honesty.Letting grief, rage, and beauty co-exist without spiritual bypass.Body image after surgery: identity, worthiness, and learning to love new scars. How community holds what the nervous system can’t hold alone.Creativity as survival: punk rock, voice, and reclaiming power.Radical inner belonging vs. performative positivity. What helps on hard days: micro-rituals, movement, and telling the truth.Wisdom for supporters: what to say, what to avoid, how to show up.Memorable Lines“This isn’t about beating anything. It’s about listening to what this moment is asking of my soul.”“My body changed—and my relationship with courage had to change with it.”For Listeners On a Similar PathIf you (or someone you love) are in treatment or recovery, Kate’s perspective offers companionship, language, and permission. Take what lands. Leave the rest. Your pace is holy.About Kate Houston -Kate is a coach and creative whose work centers on love, self-worth, and authentic expression. It’s Aquarius season again here in The New Beyond and for me, that means I’ve completed another trip around the sun. As a double Aquarian, (sun & rising signs), I am about to celebrate my 83rd birthday. And I am also celebrating the 3rd anniversary of this podcast. So, this week’s episode is a bit self-indulgent, if you will allow, as I reflect on being in my 80’s as an Aquarian being, which is anything but ordinary, especially now, in 2025, with the overwhelming amount of change, disruption and chaos we are currently experiencing all over the world. We are living in extraordinary times, and I think it takes great courage to be a human being on the planet right now. As an 83 year-old, I am so far from the typical profile of someone my age. And yet, I know that it is just a number. What really matters is how we make the years count while we’re here. I’ll share about that in this episode. In this episode, I drop a bit of astrology on you. I am not an astrologer, but Aquarius is the sign of astrology, so I have a keen interest. I discuss some background on what is happening now astrologically, that impacts every one of us, not just Aquarians. We are entering a 20-year cycle of gigantic upheaval, leading to a major shift in paradigms. We are now firmly into the Aquarian Age, which I equate to The New Beyond. When I received the name of this podcast three years ago, I did not consciously connect the dots between these two. But it’s now clear to me, this is what it is. The New Beyond IS the Age of Aquarius and it is fitting and proper that this podcast represents that consciousness. If you’ll further indulge me, at the end of this week’s episode, I share a piece of my writing about why I came to the planet. I hope you can hear yourself in there and find something in it that resonates for you. Thank you for coming along on this journey with me for the past three years. In this episode of The New Beyond, I sit down with Eric Antonette, a certified anger management specialist, relationship coach, yoga teacher, Reiki master, and regression therapist. Eric is trained to handle court-mandated anger management cases and is passionate about helping couples release old behavioral patterns and build relationships rooted in love, respect, and connection. He blends his expertise in yoga, energy healing, and regression therapy to offer a truly holistic approach to personal transformation. Together, we dive into the topic of Mastering Emotions in Relationships—exploring how we can build healthier, more conscious connections through emotional awareness, personal responsibility, and deep inner work. Eric shares his personal journey from a childhood marked by family conflict to becoming a powerful guide for others navigating anger, trauma, and relationship challenges. He opens up about how his own healing paved the way for his life’s work and the wisdom he offers to clients today. Key Topics Discussed: How unprocessed childhood experiences shape adult relationships. The importance of allowing and processing emotions rather than suppressing or controlling them. Tools for regulating the nervous system to move from reactivity to conscious response. Why anger is often misunderstood as a "bad" emotion and how it can be a powerful guide when addressed constructively. The “Four Horsemen” of relationship breakdown (criticism, defensiveness, stonewalling, and contempt) as identified by John Gottman, and how to counteract them. The power of accountability, forgiveness, and making amends in healing relationship dynamics. Notable Quotes: “The thing we think we’re upset about is never the real thing. Our emotions are guides that point us toward the deeper work we need to do.” – Eric Antonette “Anger is neutral. It’s our response to it that determines whether it becomes constructive or destructive.” – Eric Antonette “The only way out is through. We must allow ourselves to feel and process emotions to master them.” – Eric Antonette “When we are responsible for our emotions, we stop blaming others and step into our true power to create something beautiful in our lives.” – Eric Antonette Connect with Eric: Website: Transform Deeply LinkedIn: Eric Antonette Join Us in the New Beyond: If this episode resonated with you, please subscribe to The New Beyond and leave a review. This week on The New Beyond, I had the extraordinary honor of speaking with Shannon Willis, a ritualist and ancestral healer whose work on Soft Rebellion stopped me in my tracks. She speaks of a revolution that is fluid, organic, and unstoppable. One that moves not through confrontation, but through connection. One that spreads beneath the surface, like the mycelium that erodes empires from below. In this episode, we explore:Why movements without leaders cannot be beheadedThe mycelial nature of Soft Rebellion—how it thrives unseenThe three principles that shift fear into transformation: Curiosity, Compassion, and CourageWhy joy is one of the greatest acts of defianceHow we reclaim our power by minding our purse—divesting from the extractive systems that harm usThis conversation is a game-changer. It’s for the healers, artists, dreamers, and quiet revolutionaries who feel weary of fighting but refuse to give up. It’s for those who know, deep down, that there is another way.🔊Available on my YouTube channel @judithrich1: https://youtu.be/JjUrwBS9pJMIf you’re not already a subscriber, please subscribe. In a world that demands more, more, more—more work, more hustle, more noise—how do we reclaim the right to rest? How do we remember that we are worthy even when we’re not producing? And what if stillness—the ability to pause, rest, and simply be—isn’t available to everyone? What if stillness is a privilege, and even the awareness of its importance is reserved for the few?In a world fueled by chaos, productivity, and systemic pressure, we explore how stillness has become both a luxury and a revolutionary act. We unpack the layers of cultural conditioning that tie self-worth to doing and achievement and offers a soulful invitation to reimagine rest—not as indulgence, but as Soft Rebellion. This episode is a call to those who are tired of being "human doings." It’s for those who long to remember how to be. Whether you struggle to find stillness, feel guilty when you slow down, or simply yearn for a new way of being in the world—this conversation is for you.In this episode, we'll explore:● Why stillness is inaccessible for many, and how privilege plays a role● The lie of hustle culture and its toxic impact on self-worth● What Soft Rebellion looks like in the context of rest and presence● Micro-moments of stillness: how to reclaim rest in small but powerful ways● How stillness becomes a path to resistance, joy, and reconnectionQuotes to Remember:“Stillness might be the most radical act of rebellion we have left.”“Being is where you finally get to experience what all the doing was for.”“Stillness is not laziness. It is not opting out. In this episode of The New Beyond, we explore the powerful concept of crossing existential and spiritual thresholds—the kind that change everything. We’re talking about the shift from suffering to freedom, from resistance to surrender, and from fear to trust. The Buddha taught that life is suffering, not as a sentence to despair, but as a truth about being human. And yet, within that truth lies an opportunity—the path to freedom. But how do we release our grip on suffering? How do we move from resistance to acceptance? And what happens when we finally drop the rope?Through deep reflections, personal insights, and a profound dream about ancestral healing, I'll take us on a journey to the other side of the line—the place where we reclaim our power, step into flow, and break free from the chains of resistance. What You’ll Learn in This Episode:✅ The true meaning of suffering and why resisting it only deepens our pain✅ How resistance feeds struggle—and how acceptance creates space for healing✅ Why what we resist, persists—and how to release the grip of suffering✅ The shift from external validation to inner knowing✅ What it means to cross a spiritual threshold and how it impacts your soul’s journey✅ A powerful story of lineage healing and how crossing your line affects future generationsKey Quotes:💡 “The moment we stop fighting reality, we create space for healing.”💡 “Resistance creates stagnation.
