January 20, 2021 – In this episode of Food in the news, we discuss David Chang, the founder of Momofuku, winning Who Wants to be a Millionaire and donating the $1 million dollar grand prize to a worthy foundation.
We know the restaurant service industry has been hit hard by this pandemic. David Chang’s focus was to donate his winnings to the Southern Smoke Foundation, which is a crisis relief foundation for people in the food and beverage industry.
What was the final question?
“Although he and his wife never toughed a light switch for fear of being shocked, who was the first president to have electricity in the White House?”
His final and correct answer: “Benjamin Harrison”
Congrats to David and the Southern Smoke Foundation!
