In this episode, we explore the 11 fundamental spiritual principles taught by Abdu’l-Khaliq al-Gujdawani, a key figure in the tradition of tasawwuf. These teachings emphasize the importance of self-discipline, inner purity, and the continuous remembrance of Allah. In today’s modern, fast-paced world, where we are constantly distracted by phone notifications and external noise, these principles offer a grounding path for seekers. I discuss how to navigate and integrate these timeless teachings into every moment of life, helping us cultivate a refined soul and a deep connection with the Creator amidst the distractions of daily life.
I’m joined by Asli Bassozen, an activist and personal trainer, to discuss the importance of staying active during Ramadan. We explore why women should prioritize working out during this sacred month, not only for physical health but also for mental and spiritual well-being. Asli shares insights on how exercise can help maintain bone density, stay independent as we age, and continue our daily activities—like prayer—without relying on others. She also offers practical tips for hitting protein goals and maintaining strength while connecting spiritually during Ramadan. Join us as we focus on building strength, both mentally and physically, as a Muslim should during this special time.
Goethe. "The Shakespeare" of German literature. Someone deeply invested in philosophy, science, culture, and so much more. But the particular reason why I made this episode is his connection to Islam. His fascination with Islam was deep and especially thoughtful, respectful. Let's explore it together. "Where are those old Ramadans?" Ask our elders always with a little tone of nostalgia mixed with disappointment and yearning. As a child we may not understand what that means, but today it makes sense to me now. "Those old Ramadans."... It will be always something we will say, even in 2065.
During this Ramadan special edition, I'm going to try to answer this question in a very broad way.
While we're gonna go back in time a little bit, my focus will be also our current time. Today, we will go back to the Ottoman Empire and we're gonna search for an answer.
I'm going to tell you four traditions from the Ottoman Empire that I find inspiring. But first, we have to go a little bit back in time. Let's go to the 12th century. Istanbul....

Salaam, I'm Tusem. In this episode, we delve into the intriguing phenomenon of Tall Poppy Syndrome. Joining me are Samia Elyakhlifi & Oana Pasalau-Cioaba, and together, we explore this silent societal issue that involves cutting down individuals who stand out, hindering personal and professional growth.
We share our own experiences, shedding light on the impact on mental health and the crucial role of self-awareness. Leaders, we argue, play a pivotal role in recognizing and addressing Tall Poppy Syndrome within teams, and we introduce the concept of the Tall Poppy Triangle.
Our discussion extends to the generational impact of this phenomenon. We advocate for a shift from blame to understanding and collaboration, fostering a more inclusive and growth-oriented environment. Ultimately, we stress the importance of empathy in combating Tall Poppy Syndrome and creating a healthier community.

As young adults in Western Europe, our conversation reflects observations of how stories unfold in our environment and media landscape, navigating through the layers of mainstream narratives and the dynamic realm of social media.. where celebs and some influencers continue sharing their PR packages and "luvv" the texture of the foundation.
We’ll question the commitment to "Never again" when it comes to colonial history, racism, and global conflicts.
In the year 2023, First time in history, we literally are witnessing from the comfort of our warm home, through social media livestreams horrific content. While social media has always been a mostly a part of entertainment were we share our coffees, our vacation trips an such... it became this tool were we see content, without meddling or filtering of deeply layered media outlets.
Now we can easily answer the question:" Is the Narrative shifting from entities to humans?" with a big YES in my opinion.
On the coming minutes we'll delve into the intricate world of storytelling, exploring its profound impact on our beliefs, societies, and the narratives shaping our perceptions.
