this week, we are getting real about the ups and downs of transitioning into a new school year. whether you’re in high school, college, or even out in the “real world,” adjusting to life after summer can be tough. I’ve felt overwhelmed by the extra responsibilities and harder classes, and I know so many of you are feeling the same.
we chat about the stress of picking (or switching) a major and how it ties into figuring out a career path. spoiler alert: it’s OK to change directions, even after you’ve graduated. we will also touch on preventing burnout, frustrations around internship/job applications, feeling lonely, and disappointment of the “school experience.”

today, I go over how I finally healed my relationship with food, exercise, and my body. well, maybe not FULLY healed (as I believe it is a life-long journey), but a lot more healed than earlier this year.
I have been through the full spectrum. I have had a restrictive eating disorder, I have also struggled with binge/emotional eating. I have been obsessive with exercise, and obsessive about steps, calories burned, and certain types of exercise. I have believed that I “should lift” or “should only do pilates.” I used to hate my body, and I am currently learning to love it.
I have been through it all, and I am still learning! but I wanted to do a whole episode reflecting on how intuitive eating healed my relationship with food, how I get over food anxiety, how I stopped making my life about exercise, and how I am learning to love myself.
this is a DEEP episode that not only gives tips, but also advice on mindset which is often the hardest piece. I really hope it is helpful for you girls!

today we are going to chat about all things hormone health, and HA recovery. this is yet another vulnerable and “taboo” subject but with so many girls struggling, I just had to open up about something I have been struggling with.
HA, or hypothalamic amenorrhea is a loss of period. generally, if a girl does not have a period by 16, or her period goes missing, she is diagnosed with HA. it might seem great to not have to worry about a period, but it is a BIG indicator that something is wrong in your body. it can cause very negative impacts on the future of your health as well.
whether or not you have a missing period, we also discuss hormonal acne, mood swings, and everything else about being healthy for the sake of HEALTH and not being skinny. female hormonal health is a very broad topic, but I do my best to give my tips to helping your female hormones. keep in mind I am not a doctor or specialist, but have done lots of research in the past.
finally, we will chat about my THOUSANDS of dollars spent on holistic and functional medicine doctors, the tears and blood tests, things that I learned, and the steps I am taking to rebalance my hormones and regain my period.

today we are going to chat about how to balance feminine and masculine energy. as a very “independent” and “goal-oriented” girlie, I often lose touch with my femininity. I end up feeling exhausted, angry, and like I am always the one having to call the shots.
I believe that femininity and masculinity is a BALANCE that must be struck. it is how you carry yourself, it is how you talk, your energy. it is not just wearing pink and running around a field of flowers. it is not just always being “intuitive” and swear off calendars and structure. it is a balance to not only allow yourself to be feminine, but embrace the special power and uniqueness that you have as a woman.
in such a masculine world, I believe that the girlies would feel better if we learned how to really embrace being feminine, while also pulling some masculine traits to achieve amazing things.

today I chat about everything. honestly…EVERYTHING about what has been going on in my life.
and honestly, it has been a only been TON of work. some days, upwards of 16 hrs as I balance both my corporate internship, a start-up and then everything else like sleeping, having a social life, and working out.
I come clean about my real name, and go through my top time-management techniques for how I get everything done without losing my mind or doing those “motivational-bro” schedules of like…getting up at 3 AM. no. just no.
oh, and I mention that soon, there will be a “rebrand” of lovely with lana. while I absolutely adore pink, I want to include ALL the girlies that are into health, wellness, business, skincare, faith, and ultimately bettering themselves, no matter your fave color. I want to chat with you and build a community of like-minded girlies. so while the intro to the episode is gone (and honestly might not make a new one), and the aesthetic will stay pink-ish, I want to change the cover to represent who I am now, and really put in effort on making all the girlies feel welcome.

today I open up about my testimony and the journey of my relationship with God.
I always grew up in the church, but that does not mean I had a strong relationship with God. I called myself "Christian" but never really lived out my life like a Christian. lately, I have felt called to talk about my testimony.
I go through some of the darkest moments of my life, and how God consistently revealed Himself to me and protected me. this is not the “perfect Christian since birth” story. but maybe, me being vulnerable can help just one other person.
we go through comparison, eating disorders, anxiety, doubt, lack of friends, lack of Christian community, judgemental “Christians” and more. but God is good, and maybe if you hear how He worked in my life it can spark something in you.

having the perfect skin, the perfect body, the perfect clothing, the perfect everything is really exhausting. to be convinced on social media and IRL that there is something wrong with you, even if things like acne and stretch marks are completely normal, is messed up.
so join me in today’s episode as I cover how subjective beauty really is, the impact of social media, and all of the things women are told they should fear (cough cough, aging, a tummy pouch, acne), when really, they are completely normal things.
it is NORMAL to want to feel beautiful. it is OK to work hard on your skincare and appearance. but, once that starts to become your self-worth, that is where we have to draw the line.

5. What is the outcome of this action if I continue along this path?
