[Real by MTHP Archive]- Episode 9: Healing in the Wake of Paralysis ft Erin Field
Update: 2021-05-25
Description
Today, we welcome Erin Field to the podcast!
*
Quadriplegia is the paralysis of the body from (at least) the shoulders down and, in Erin's experience occurred as a result of a C5 spinal cord injury after a chimney collapsed on her.
*
During today's episode we briefly discuss the accident and then talk about how Erin's life changed as a result.
She also talks about how she manages days that feel particularly challenging or dark, and educates those who are able-bodied on how to learn more about paralysis.
*
This interview was almost one year in the making, and I honestly feel so grateful that I was able to connect with Erin during this time. She is a truly special person!!
Chatting with Erin has also prompted me to continue to turn the lens on The Move to Heal Project and to work to educate myself on paralysis and disability as we continue forward
