π Musings β The Courage Of Being Gentle
Description
Tenderness is StrengthWelcome back to Tuesday Musings. Today, I want to share a reflection thatβs been growing in my heart β a reflection on tenderness, softness, gentleness, and the quiet strength that lives within them.
For so long, strength has been painted as something hard.Unbending. Unyielding.Something that pushes forward no matter the cost.
But when I look at the world, I see a different kind of strength. The strength of water, carving valleys not through force, but through persistence and flow. The strength of the wind, unseen yet powerful enough to move the trees. The strength of a heart that chooses kindness, even when itβs easier to close.
Softness does not mean weakness. It means resilience without hardness. It means courage without violence. It means the ability to bend without breaking.
Thereβs strength in gentleness. It takes strength to pause instead of rush.Strength to listen instead of interrupt.Strength to forgive instead of holding on.Strength to remain open-hearted in a world that so often tells us to toughen up.
And perhaps the deepest strength of all:to be tender with ourselves. To show compassion to the parts of us that feel messy, tired, or unsure. To let softness be the ground we grow from, not the mask we hide behind.
Tenderness is strength. Because it takes far more courage to stay open than to close, to be gentle rather than guarded. Tenderness asks us to live with our hearts unarmored β to meet ourselves and others with patience, compassion, and love, even when it feels vulnerable. In that openness, we discover a strength that doesnβt overpower but uplifts, that doesnβt harden but heals.
So this week, I invite you to notice where softness, tenderness is already showing up in your life.In your patience. In your laughter. In the way you reach for understanding instead of judgment.
And perhaps ask yourself:Where might I allow softness to lead?
Because true strength isnβt about how hard we can stand.Itβs about how gently and tenderly we can love, and how fully we can remain open to the life flowing through us.
Thank you for being here with me.May your days ahead be rooted in gentleness, tenderness and may you know the quiet, steady strength that has always lived within you.
With love and light
