A devastating fire has ripped through the Wang Fuk Court housing complex in Hong Kong's Tai Po district, killing at least 44 people with 271 still missing. The blaze spread rapidly through bamboo scaffolding and green construction mesh covering the 32-storey residential towers, forcing residents to evacuation centres. Three construction company officials have been arrested on manslaughter charges as authorities investigate the use of substandard materials including styrofoam window seals.
