005 - Poetry, Short Stories, Authorship & Ownership (w/Catherine Smith)
Description
A new series of The Library Talks Podcast begins with a fascinating conversation with poet Catherine Smith, recorded at her home in Lewes, East Sussex.
In this episode, Catherine and host Alfie discuss the different creative opportunities afforded to writers by poetry and short-form fiction, the differing cultural value placed in poetry at home and abroad, the author's relationship to their work and the extent to which they own their creations once they are published.
We also dig into Catherine's 3 selections for our new feature Desert Island Books, where she picks a title that means something to her from the world of poetry, short stories and long-form fiction.
