Description

Robin Grunder shares why it is important to share your story and legacy for your family. She uses the term legacy writing after starting a project with her grandmother to get her life story on to paper. She encourages you to put a prompt kit together for your aging family members so that you can capture their memories and lives. She put slips of paper with questions in a jar for her grandparents along with a journal to answer to questions. These journals allowed her to bring so much to this project for her grandma. She was able to get to know her grandma as a child, a newly wed, a wife and mother.

With the extra time many retired persons may have on their hands, this is a great activity to document life stories and preserve the legacy. It is never too early to write your story but it can easily become too late. There is no story that can't be redeemed either.

The beautiful end of this story is that the book was finished and the manuscript complete with her name on the cover as the author. Robin called her father to go with her to present her book to her, he returned the call to tell her that she fell asleep in Iowa that night and woke in heaven this morning. Robin was able to read from the book at her funeral. While it will not be a best seller on Amazon, it is a best seller with her family.
