Description
In 16 weeks I’m taking on the biggest physical challenge of my life -- a 50k trail run. Easy for an athletic person with lots of free time, but that’s not me. I wasn’t born with grace and athleticism. And time definitely isn’t on my side.
My plan is to get creative with the time that I have, to tweak my nutrition to give me the energy I need and help me recover from the additional miles, plus do everything I can to keep motivated. That's the key.
Why do we do these things? What is it that gets us up off the couch and lace up those running shoes for the first time? What keeps us gong? It’s all about finding the motivation.
In this episode, I talk with Dr. Tom Raedeke, from The College of Health and Human Performance at East Carolina University about understanding motivation and how to stay on track with our goals. You'll also hear from Eric Orton, the famed running coach from the book Born to Run, and get a peek into my past with my good friend Randy Cox.
