#1 Ethernet, Mellenger Interview, Value-Based Pricing & Dad Jokes
Description
In this episode of /Agency Future, John interviews Andrew about his past experience developing complex websites in the 90s and how he's built his career from there. We talk about value-based pricing and client pricing strategies and pay homage to Charles P. Thacker: inventor of ethernet.
Andrew talks about early applications and references how strongly IMDB has stood the test of time. He talks about how its inspired a lot of builds since discovering it. We get into Andrew's CORE development process and how being a rockstar programmer isn't always advantageous in development and how some of the best user-experiences don't even involve complex coding.
John references and discusses Chris Do's approach to value-based pricing and how people can articulate it to new clients as well as how freelancers and contractors can quantify the value of their work.
Oh, and Dad jokes all around.
