He is Professor of the Practice of Public Philosophy at Harvard University and holds the title of Professor Emeritus at Princeton University. ⁰ he is completely right about courage, everyone loves comfort and safety and true freedom is not really comfortable or safe, it can't be because permanent comfort by necissity is conforming to what's easy which is why endless comfort is horribly boring, sufficatingly so and absolute safety is death, that is the only absolute safety. Oh he is talking about Trump so anyone who likes Trump must automatically dismiss him without thinking about it because he is running against their beliefs, that is such a weak way of relating to the world.
I don't know, what he is saying about Pryer sounds well considered and intelligent to me, certainly not the good/bad wrong/right, black/white simpletonism of duality thinking. And he's talking about Russian writer Chekov, how can you not like that, unless of course you want a good bad world that is easy to label and figure out.
what an amazing Podcast. this should be mandatory listening in schools!!

I am a far more stupid individual after listening to a minute 30 of him.
44m in. I knew there would be some serious fabrications when he said 'Palestinian Jew named Jesus". Jesus died in.... 30AD? It was called Judea then. The name Palestine was invented by the Romans in 135AD, after the expulsion of the Jews. So no. Wrong. False manipulation. It lays serious doubts on any factoids the man espouses. Which is a shame, because he clearly is intelligent and he has interesting hypotheses about how democracy was kickstarted from comedy.
interesting fact, white liberals are the only sub species with out group preferences. this doesn't work in nature.
good podcast, but would have been better if religion wasn't brought up. It lowers I.Q for me.
No matter how much praise some white folks seem to get, they still feel under attack. He could not have been more well rounded.
