Description

Us artists and creatives are often unfairly labeled with stereotypes - we might be seen as party animals, having really high highs and really low lows, totally unable to hit deadlines, we’re difficult to work with or even that we’ve had big dramatic events in our lives that led to emotional turmoil! Quite honestly, I’m so over this. We’re talented and smart - we just have different gifts to engineers, doctors or lawyers!

The truth is though, when it comes to business, sometimes we accidentally take on the labels that we’re given. We might not hold ourselves strictly accountable to deadlines if we think that a client isn’t expecting us to, anyway. We might have a messy business back-end because we know that that’s not where our strengths lie. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to start my podcast - there is no reason we can’t be incredible business owners with an amazing client experience. It’s no longer enough to just be good at what you do, we need to go the extra mile, make our clients feel supported and in the loop at all times, and be that on-top-of-it-all CEO you deep down know you can be!

In today’s episode, I’m giving you a little taster of what’s to come in future episodes, so make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss any!

In this episode, I’m chatting about:

  • The stereotypes and labels given to artists and creatives
  • How we might subconsciously accept those labels
  • Structuring your business so that it supports you to show up more professionally
  • Why it’s no longer enough to just be a standout creative
  • Creating different revenue streams in business
