Derek Simon welcomes show producer Jerry Benavides to discuss last weekend’s divisional playoff games in the NFL and how those results will impact this coming weekend’s divisional championships games. Simon asserts that the outcomes of last week’s games were predictable if we had simply looked at the numbers and the statistical trends that those teams were exhibiting leading into those games. Benavides describes his flawed methodology for placing bets which involves more emotion and wishful thinking when dealing with his favorite teams, whereas Simon insists that we should always stick to the numbers. Simon also went on to handicap some important horse races coming up this weekend and gave his methodology and reasons for making some intelligent wagers. In the end, they both agree that it’s better to bet with your head, instead of your gut.
