Every two years, the safe home for the gays that are the music charts and bombarded by the straights as a barrage of football songs come out to celebrate the World Cup and/or Euros.


This week on The 2000s Chart Show, it's the Euros 2004, and the straights were celebrating with a "footie" spin on Come on Eileen, a slightly dog whistle-sounding single featuring The Libertines and Supergrass and a song about World War One. The breeders having a normal one, as always.


If you think the "beautiful game" is lame, however, we have plenty to discuss this week in our latest run down of the pop music of 2004.
