Did Girls Aloud Curse Javine? (And Did Baby Cakes Beat The Libertines?) (August 21 2004)
Description
We're back with one of my personal favourite chart battles of the 2000s. A very chaotic Libertines who have basically broken up on the cusp of being the biggest band in the UK vs. the madly catchy Baby Cakes by 3 of a Kind. Will the British record buying public put up with Can't Stand Me Now, or do they they like it down low low? All will be revealed as we relive the UK top 40 singles chart from this week 20 years ago.
Also on this week's episode: Pop trivia! Deranged takes! Nostalgia! Bad accents! Plus:
*Which rapper lost the demo of his second album in a threesome?
*Which 2000s pop star was the face of the water brand that had a very unfortunate tagline involving spunk?
*Which indie girlie of 2004's mum was in the Carry On films?
*Which X Factor winner did Busted call "rude"?
All that plus songs from some of the 2000s' biggest pop stars, including Busted, Britney, Anastasia, Rachel Stevens, Jamelia, Usher and McFly.
