Jessica Morris is an author, spiritual director, and recovering addict. She is also the daughter of an alcoholic minister—a relationship that deeply affected her ideas of God, religion, and death. Her book, Higher Powered: One Woman's Journey of Personal Eschatology, takes a look at eschatology (the study of the "end times") and how recovery from addiction to food and alcohol has been a catalyst for forgiveness, acceptance, and faith.
