Description

On the morning of January 7, 2018, at 9:25 a.m., a chilling call was made to the 911 dispatch in Belgrade, Montana. A distressed woman reported that her neighbor had just come to her home in a panic, explaining she had returned to her residence to discover her two roommates had been shot. One roommate, she believed, was gravely injured but still clinging to life. Terrified, the neighbor had fled the scene and sought refuge, desperately asking for help. Law enforcement officers were immediately dispatched, though they had no idea what they were walking into. The initial report indicated that one female was dead and another, a 30-year-old, was wounded and unconscious. Recognizing this may be a difficult scene, the first responding officer requested backup as he approached the scene. Upon arrival, the officer was met by a visibly shaken woman—the roommate who had gone to her neighbor for help, now standing before him, clearly distraught. She was the third resident of the home, the one who had just witnessed the aftermath of what appeared to be a horrifying crime within her own home.
