In this episode we interview the revolutionary Anne Hodder-Shipp about her latest book Speaking from the Heart: 18 Languages of Modern Love. We discuss why the classic book 5 Love Languages is both limiting and dismissive of many people's experiences, the diversity of love languages can how they can evolve, the 18 and growing love languages for the modern world, and how you can apply them to your life here and now.

Anne is also the founder of Everyone Deserves Sex Ed (EDSE) - a sex educator certification program we highly believe in. About our guest: Anne Hodder-Shipp, CSE, (she/they pronouns) is an award-winning, multi-certified sex and relationships educator with professional training in breathwork and natural dreamwork. They boast a unique understanding of age-appropriate sex education, trauma-informed healing, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence, and they bring a fun, friendly, and sex-positive facilitation style to every session, group, or event she hosts. Anne has been working with and writing about sex and relationships in some form since 2007. In addition to her private practice and public workshops, Anne is the founder of and lead educator at Everyone Deserves Sex Ed (EDSE) and leads treatment groups for clients recovering from substance use disorder, eating disorders, compulsive sexual behavior, and other stigmatized illnesses. Anne also provides pleasure education and events through S3X Plus Productions, and is the CEO of Hodder Media Inc., the first sex-positive PR and marketing firm to specialize in sex toys and pleasure products.

Most recently, Anne released Speaking from the Heart: 18 Languages for Modern Love, a groundbreaking and much-needed expansive update to the love language concept, and its accompanying workbook, The Speaking from the Heart Workbook: A Practical Guide to the Modern Love Languages. In 2022, the reproductive justice organization Power to Decide named Anne a “Power Player,” and the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) honored Anne with the coveted Professional Standard of Excellence award.
