Description
Rui Alexandre Gonçalves is currently the Global Aquaculture Business developer and innovation manager at Lucta, Spain. He gained his BSc degree in marine biology and biotechnology in 2006 and further increased his education by performing a MSc in Aquaculture and a post graduation degree in pharmaceutical sciences (University of Algarve, Portugal).
Rui obtained his PhD at the University of Stirling, studying the impact of mycotoxins in aquaculture, namely in rainbow trout. He is author/co-author of more than 70 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and magazines. In 2019, Rui led the publication of the book entitled “Mycotoxins in Aquaculture”, where he was also author of several chapters.
Aquaculture is still a young science in controlling pathogen challenge. Rui bring insights about the future challenges in the sector.
