I’m an amateur when it comes to essential oils. From all of the research about health, I haven’t tapped into or shared about essential oils, honestly, for no other reason than just time. The funny thing about essential oils is I’ve used them for a very long time.
While it’s always intrigued me, I tend to stick with the basics. It wasn’t until my personal health journey enticed me into using essential oils to open up my body and allow healing that I felt intrigued to learn more.
Even more, numerous podcast guests and health experts have mentioned during the show, about their usage of essential oils. So today, I wanted to declare my love of oils, jump that bandwagon and expose you to another tool of health.
Today, I am breaking down how to use essential oils for health with my friend, Leatha Arant. The one I’ve learned from, trust, and am always so encouraged by. Learn more about essential oils in today’s podcast and follow along as I share seven ways to use essential oils for health.
Anxiety can take you by surprise and hold no mercy on you. One way to help coach you through an anxiety storm and get you back on your feet is the use of aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is a powerful and proven mechanism reducing anxiety {1}.
While there are many powerful oils to use, a great place to start is Valor. This particular oil already contains a carrier oil, so you can find value by applying it topically without worry. Try rubbing it behind your ears or on your wrist.
You can even apply one drop in your hands and cup it over your nose as you take a series of deep breaths if you don’t have Valor or want another option, dry putting one drop of Copaiba Vitality under your tongue to calm you down.
2. a safe fruit and veggie wash
There is a lot of grime hidden on our fresh produce. Always make sure you wash well before consuming it. While water helps, I can assure you; you will be amazed at the difference in using a cleaning oil with the water.
Mix a spray bottle using one tablespoon Thieves concentrate with 2 cups of water. Spray on produce and let sit for a few minutes before rinsing. You could also fill your sink with water, add a splash of Thieves essential oil and let sit before rinsing.
Of course, if you don’t have Thieves, 5-6 drops of Lemon essential oil in a sink full of water will do the trick.
3. make your skin glow
I love a good lotion, but I cringe at the cost. Why do they have to cost so much? I’m sure they work, but can we produce the same results at home? This super simple, money-saving serum promises to do the trick.
If you don’t have all of those oils, you can put together a similar serum in a 15ml bottle using ten drops each of
Frankincense and
Lavender, filling the rest of the bottle with a carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil.
4. boost your libido
Do you need a little extra boost in the bedroom? As the saying goes, Thieves in the streets and Cypress in the sheets.
Dilute and apply Cypress oil on the inner thighs on him and her. Combine that with a diffuser mixture of five drops Ylang Ylang and five drops Orange Essential Oil to release extra oxytocin and ignite the happiness and bonding. I’ll let you experience that for yourself.
5. increase your mood
Feeling blue? I think we all wake up on the wrong side of the bed from time to time. Oils can be a huge mood lifter, helping you feel more awake and alive. Try Clary Sage – which works best in a 10ml roller bottle. Add 40-50 drops
Clary Sage and top off with a carrier oil of your choice.
Roll on your stomach daily for the mood-boosting benefits.
6. help you reach deep sleep
Of course, you always hear about
lavender, but I just haven’t had luck. It makes me feel more jittery then relax, which is not uncommon. Everyone responds differently to different oils. While I still use
lavender, I combine it with <a href="https://www.youngliving.com/en_US/products/cedarwood-essential-oil?isoCountryCode=US&sponsorid=17696574&enrollerid=17696574&type=member&is
