At 12 years old, Shannon's stepfather started grooming her, and at 13 years old, the sexual abuse began. This abuse continued every day until Shannon's first year of college. Today we talk about the intricacies of her story, including the intersection of the abuse occurring within her church-going family, her realizations about her own sexual identity during the timeframe of the abuse, what happened when she disclosed the abuse was happening, and so much more.
