71: The Value in Diverse Interests and Hobbies with Michael Wardian
Description
In this episode I had the pleasure of chatting with Hoka runner Michael Wardian who is a 3 time national champion at the 50k distance, a world record holder, a multi time olympic trials qualifier in the marathon, he has run 7 marathons in 7 days on all 7 continents, he has competed in ultramarathons from UTMB to Western States, Hardrock to the Barclay Marathons, he has done it all! And yet he did not grow up running, he played division 1 lacrosse at Michigan State, and to this day he has a wide range of interests from pickleball to chess, from strength training to now fly fishing, and in his running he frequently mixes in road races and ultra trail races to his year. Make sure you stick around to the end of the podcast to hear what objectives Mike has cooking for the next few years!
