Description

As I’m recording this, I have just returned to San Francisco (literally yesterday) after a brief trip to Miami. It used to be that when I travelled anywhere, I’d have to take at least a day to recoup and get my body moving again as I dealt with physical aches and pains. Fast-forward to now, and I hiked around the Golden Gate bridge and walked across the entire span literally on my way home from the airport with no problems. In fact, I’ve travelled so much this year, and all with no pain at all - yeah, you read that right.

The next two episodes in this set of December reflections on top downloaded episodes from the past year are all about knowing yourself and your body. I’m so excited to dive into these themes, because I know that we’ll be continuing to talk more about them into 2022, as well. Without further ado, here are the top 4 and 3 most downloaded episodes for 2021!

Number 4: Ep 27 -  Becoming the Loving Leader of Your Body with Alex Grant

Ask yourself: How do you communicate with your body? What wisdom is contained in your pain?

I know I said this last time, but this episode with my friend Alex is another one of my personal favourite episodes. Both Alex and myself are super passionate about the body as our experience vessel - it can provide so much wisdom if you know how to communicate with your body. Pain is an early stage indicator for when you need to make a change because your body will try to get your attention to help bring you to the present and confront you with the wisdom you’re missing. (Bonus recommendation: check out the episode on PAIN - Pay Attention Inwards Now for advice on paying attention to what’s inside of you when you’re experiencing pain.) Your body speaks in the language of emotions, and if you’re committed to being a loving leader in your life then it starts with self-awareness to help deconstruct and understand the language and patterns of your body. Stay tuned for more on this next year, because I’ll be putting out some offerings on how you can learn to communicate with your body and to learn to lean into your intuition in order to figure out what’s best for you. In the meantime, check out the full version of this episode here and get some great tips on how to connect with your body, as well as the signals to look out for when your body is trying to get your attention.

Number 5: Ep 23 - Knowing How You Learn is the Ultimate Self-Acceptance with Dr. Maria Thomadaki

Ask yourself: How do you learn best? How are you staying organized? Is the pattern you’re following designed for success, or something else?

This episode was a full-circle moment for me, because Dr. Thomadaki was the person who changed everything for me by giving me some simple advice that I was able to use to transform my life, both within and beyond chiropractic school. She gave me patterns for success as a student, but I’ve since learned that you can also use them to build businesses, health, relationships, as well as your career. Once I figured out how I learn best, the next major thing that blew my mind was organization. Being organized is one of the simple but major things that really blew my mind in how incredibly helpful it was. Having a system in place helped make chiropractic college more manageable, but also helped me to store the information in a way that even now, years later, I can still recall that information so easily. One of my biggest takeaways from Dr. T is that you need to know who you are as much as you need to learn the knowledge of your field; otherwise, it’s hard to help others, and will likely lead to burnout. Whether your goal is a better relationship with yourself and therefore others in your life, or to build a business, or to thrive is your career, or if you have health challenges, there are some really simple principles that can help you - but it’s important to have guidance and mentorship in this, and that’s where I want to offer my expertise. Check out the full episode here, and let me know if there’s specific offerings and lessons you’d like to hear more about in 2022 - I’d love to hear from you!

I hope you enjoyed listening to the highlights from numbers 4 & 3 of the most downloaded episodes from the Spirit of Success podcast for 2021! As I mentioned last time, all of the guests who were featured in the top 6 most downloaded episodes will be returning to the podcast in January to reflect on where they are now, what’s changed since we last heard from them, and to look forward to the year ahead. So if you want to hear more from Alex and Dr. Thomadaki, be sure to tune in!

If you need my opinion on something that’s going on with you, please also reach out to me! Or, please also let me know what you’re interested in learning more about next year, as I’m starting to formulate some new offerings.

Next week on the podcast, I’ll reveal which episodes made it to the top 1 & 2 spots for 2021. You won’t want to miss it!
