Story Context: 

The young man heard a cry and turned round but he could not see anybody. At the same moment, a boy ran up to him and pointed towards the river. They both ran along the river bank and after a short time, they saw a girl in the water. the girl was holding on to piece of wood, but the river was deep and it was carrying her away. The man acted quickly. He took off his coat at once, jumped into the water, and saved the girl's life.
