Description
University of Delaware Student Arrested: Alleged Plot to Attack Campus Police UncoveredA University of Delaware student, Luqmaan Khan, was arrested after authorities found a cache of weapons, body armor, and a notebook detailing an alleged plot to attack campus police. Khan, a twenty-five-year-old Afghan national and naturalized American citizen, was taken into custody with charges of illegal possession of a machine gun. Officials discovered a handgun, multiple magazines, body armor, and equipment to convert the handgun into a semi-automatic rifle in his truck. A marble notebook containing extensive plans to attack the campus police department was also found, with disturbing language such as kill all — martyrdom. Khan later told officers he believed achieving martyrdom was one of the greatest things you can do. A subsequent search of Khans residence uncovered additional weapons, including an AR-style rifle with a red-dot scope, another pistol outfitted to fire fully automatic, nearly a dozen extended loaded magazines, and additional sets of body armor. None of the firearms were registered, and Khan remains in federal custody as the investigation continues.
