1. Ethiopia- Addis Ababa
Ethiopia is getting ready for the inauguration today Tuesday of its long standing controversial Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
The mega plant built by Addis Ababa on the waters of the Blue Nile has raised concerns in Egypt and Sudan over the potential reduction of water levels downstream.
Many African leaders are expected to skip Tuesday’s inauguration due to the ongoing controversy.
2. Uganda – International Criminal Court
International Criminal Court prosecutors will present evidence on today to back up charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity against notorious fugitive Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony at the global court’s first-ever in absentia hearing.
Kony faces dozens of counts of crimes against humanity and war crimes, including murder, sexual enslavement and rape for allegedly leading the brutal Lord’s Resistance Army that terrorised northern Uganda.
3. Malawi – Lilongwe

The High Court has opened hearings in a judicial review case that could have profound implications for Malawi's 2025 elections, as the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), the UTM Party, and other claimants challenge the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) over its management of the electoral process.
