1. Cameroon – Yaounde
Cameroon’s long-time leader Paul Biya was sworn in yesterday for a new seven-year term following his victory in last month's presidential election, which his opposition rival has described as "a constitutional coup.”
2. Tanzania- Dar es Salaam
Tanzania opposition leader faces terrorism charges after contentious election and Preliminary statement of the Electoral Commissions Forum of SADC countries (ECF-SADC) on the general election of Tanzania is again scathing and correctly harsh.
3. Sudan – USA
The Sudanese paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) says it has agreed to a humanitarian truce proposed by a US-led mediator group.
The RSF seized control of North Darfur’s besieged capital el-Fasher in late October after more than 18 months of fighting.
4. UNESCO- EGYPT
The General Conference of UNESCO yesterday elected Khaled El-Enany as Director-General of the Organization, with 172 votes out of a total of 174 ballots.
