Description

Hi. I’m Ana. I was five when my family emigrated from Cuba to the U.S. in 1967. Ever since, I’ve been striving to honor my family’s story and Cuban American culture through storytelling—on paper, on the stage, and on radio and TV.

My first book comes out April 22, 2025. Property of the Revolution: From a Cuban Barrio to a New Hampshire Mill Town will take you to a place you’ve never been and won’t want to leave: the home of a multigenerational Cuban family that lost everything to a revolution they’d once supported, broke apart to stay together, and found redemption and freedom as Cuban Americans.

In the past, my writing has been featured in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Boston Globe Sunday Magazine, and more. I’ve also appeared on PBS’s Stories from The Stage and NPR’s All Things Considered.
