THIS IS SUMMIT WEEK! Three Summits featuring some of the world's best Saxophonists, Bassists and Drummers. Today is BASS SUMMIT with:
Ron Carter, the Maestro. He’s probably the most revered bassist of all time and certainly the most recorded jazz bassist. He’s a 3x Grammy winner. He was a member of Miles Davis’s groundbreaking quintet in the 1960s. He’s played with just about everyone and won numerous awards.
Jerry Jemmott, the Groovemaster. He defined the electric bass in the 1960s and 1970s in soul, blues and jazz. He’s a 2x Grammy winner. He’s recorded with a Who’s Who including Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Wilson Pickett, Roberta Flack, B.B. King and Chuck Berry among others.
Mark Egan is one of the premier electric bassists of our time. He’s played on many jazz and pop albums and movie and TV soundtracks. He’s recorded with Sting, Judy Collins, Roger Daltrey and Larry Coryell among others. He was a member of the Pat Metheny Group and Gil Evans for 13 years.
