BONUS - Darren Philip on Bringing the Generations Back Together
Description
Darren Philip is the National Stewardship Consultant for the Church of Scotland, and calls the town of Livingstone in Scotland home.
He works in the Church of Scotland's national office, which helps congregations with their ministry and mission. Darren is also part of an ecumenical church - four different denominations working together to try and create a new, intentionally intergenerational expression of worship.
Darren, along with Suzi Farrant, is the author of 'Being an Intergenerational Church', which sets out a vision for bringing the generations back together within churches.
Tammy caught up with Darren at this year's Intergenerate Conference in the USA.
Topics discussed:
- The segregation of the generations.
- What we can learn from each other.
- Overcoming fixed mindsets and assumptions.
- New frontiers in intergenerational ministry.
Darren's book recommendation was 'The Deepest Belonging' by Kara Root.
Intergenerate Australia and New Zealand exist to raise awareness of the importance of being more “Intergenerational” within faith communities, believing we can do more together than alone.
