BPCE Launches Crypto Trading in Banking Apps

French banking giant BPCE is expanding into cryptocurrency, allowing retail customers to buy and sell digital assets through their existing banking apps. Initially, this service will be available to two million customers of four regional banks, with plans to expand to all twelve million by 2026. The new feature, managed by Hexarq, includes a monthly fee and transaction commission. This phased launch allows BPCE to monitor customer adoption and system performance before a wider rollout. Other European banks, such as BBVA and Santander, have already ventured into crypto.
