Description

Student protesters and many others say that India is behind much of the unrest in Bangladesh. Protests took place in front of the Indian High Commission, demanding that India not harbor members of the previous government, including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was recently convicted in court. They call for these individuals to be extradited to Bangladesh to face their sentences. They also claim that India is using its intelligence agencies to stir unrest ahead of the elections, which allowed the assailant who killed Hadi to escape to India. The general sentiment among protesting students is anti-India. Al Jazeera’s Tanvir Chowdhury reports.
