Description

On this episode of When Harry Met Daphne we interviewed Oliver Seligman as he took us through his journey with Bipolar.    After years of fighting the reality of the diagnosis, trying to come off medication and experimenting with alternative healing methods, he finally gave up fighting bipolar and decided to accept his illness - a decision that transformed his life.

"In 1993, at the age of seventeen, I found myself in the throws of a horrific depression in a mental hospital in Edinburgh. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but did my best to live a good life and not let the illness drag me down. I became an equities sales trader on the top trading desk in the world, but it was all too much for me. Stressed out, anxious and bored, I quit the rat race and joined a group of mysterious monks who were dedicated to finding and spreading inner peace."

Through medication, meditation, finding purpose, ice-bathing and other supportive practices, he found ways to thrive despite bipolar and he has been well for the last six years.

He now spends his time giving talks on mental health, writing books and helping people to find peace.
