Behind The Curtain with Andy Truett - Tenor with the San Francisco Opera
Description
We have opera on the table today. Andy is a full-time chorus singer with the San Francisco Opera, where he has captivated audiences since joining in 2005. Andy also works as a community outreach member with the San Francisco Opera Guild, where he performs for and teaches kids about opera and gives them a brief but comprehensive taste into what it’s like to be a professional opera singer. He joins Ashley to talk about his experience as a professional singer, the day to day life and nuances of being a chorus member at the San Francisco Opera, opera and music’s role in his life, the choices he’s made to get to where he is in his career and how to preserve opera and connect the next generation with a centuries old craft.
